Contract states: WB must release a new Prince album as long as Prince agrees to release re-masters. Prince is waiting for WB to properly promote his new album, while WB is waiting for Prince to give final approval/edits on his re-masters. They are playing chicken. One side has to give or there won't be anything coming out. New or remastered.

What a depressing situation, haha! What is the source of your information?

I'm guessing the final tracklist will look like this:

1. Rock 'n' Roll Love affair

2. Fixurlifeup ( version 1 )

3. Fixurlifeup ( remix version )

4. Screwdriver

5. Plectrum Electrum

6. Live out loud

7. Breakfast can Wait

8. That girl thang

9. Boyfriend

etc. etc.

The truth is, no one knows what the contract states.

I'm trying to take what ever the 3rd Eye Girl Twitter says with a pinch of salt, I think they have a 14 year old in control of it most the time. The Majority of their tweets are things that are tweeted at them, they just delete the persons username and it come sacross they are saying it, like the Lame pictures that keep getting sent to them of Prince Perfume etc...

I'm pretty sure (after more than 1 year of talking about this never-coming album) that PlectrumElectrum (as Prince has conceived it) is a Graffiti Bridge-style effort, including songs with vacals by him and other songs with other members on lead vocals. And I'm pretty sure that is why no one wants to publish it. People keep mentioning the song Stop This Train as being from PlectrumElectrum, well this song has Hannah and Josh on vocals, which would be OK for a download but not as part of an album. Who wants that?

I'm also pretty sure that most of the guitar parts and solos on the album are from Donna and not Prince, which I guess would make all labels say "wtf Prince, people will be pissed off if all guitar is not from you". Take for example Pretzelbodylogic and FixUrLifeUp, all guitar parts are from Donna. I guess the titletrack will contain Prince solos, but I'm not even sure Wow includes a scorching solo by Prince after thos 2/3 mins of the song that widely circulate). Imagine if there is Donna on guitar for the last minute.

Nothing we know about Tic Tac Toe and Whitecaps. All of these are just assumptions of course. But all these delays really make me question about the quality of an album, if after 1 year no one wants to release it...

He could have released it on-line (and for free) but now that the Warner contract is in place, that chance is gone.

If he had been proud of the music, he would have done just that. He has enough money as it is.

And perhaps he could still release it for free right now. If it's free, it's no competition with any Warner product.

Anyway, thank God I only care about the remasters.

These are the reasons its not being billed as a Prince album though as it isnt going to be just Prince heavy material I'd imagine, it's always been refered to as 3EG record as aposed to Prince ft 3rd Eye Girl. In theory they can release it on any label if Warner doesnt want it, if they sign the album as 3EG (The Collective) because Prince is only signed to Warner as a Solo artist.

Yeah, sure he's going to have 2 versions of a song one after the other.

And if that's all that the Plectrum Electrum album has to offer I won't be partaking.

Prince doesn't even know what the contract states. Since he truly believes they are CON-tracts, it's obvious that whatever is in there...he doesn't believe he has to do. He probably feels they can sue him if they don't like the Prince they just signed. He still probably has Londell McMuffin on speed dial somewhere.

thats old music ... i wouldnt pay 99 cents for all those songs ...
