I agree with LewArcher: --- it's a very fine album. heart

1. Thunder

2. Diamonds and Pearls

3. Cream

4. Strollin'

5. Willing and Able

6. Insatiable

7. Gett Off

8. Money Don't Matter 2Night
9. Live 4 Love

As you can see I would ad Live 4 Love.

(if only one could edit out the rapping in L4L..).

One can. wink

Quite easily in fact. I have a 'Tony M lite' version of the D&P album that I put together a few years ago after (I think Ernest Sewell) said he'd done something similar. It works very well. I made it into a 'special edition' type release by adding a few extra bits & pieces (extended portion from the Thunder Ballet, Get some solo, etc), and now the only Tony M on there is his few spoken words during the Gett off chorus and.. er.. Think that might be it actually.

Yeah I have the Ernest version. Pretty good actually

Whereas my personalised edition cuts out all those boring Prince and Rosie vocal parts, thus highlighting the awesome poetry, wit and flow of Mr Anthony Mosley lol .

Compiled as a double-album with Goldnigga, it is, for me, the Songs in the Key of Life of hip hop eek cool wink .

Sounds amazing. Perhaps we could create a Tony M/Doug E Fresh mashup album? I'm sure it'd be a 'Masterpiece' wink
blah blah blah

PS, no one seems to comment on how Jughead is a revoicing of the same musical idea as Housequake. The stomping rhythm has been subsituted with a vocal vamp of the same pattern.

hmmm perhaps there are some similarities, but it's not nearly as powerful as "Housequake"

Prince's "rap" at the end is somewhat embarassing....."Im good 2 cream every boy and girl" disbelief lol

Wrong song

Ha, no nowhere near as strong... it's the Diamonds & Pearls flavor translation of Housequake. But it really is Housequake in disguise. What if all the other songs were backtranlated to SOTT style?

That rap is from Push
wink
Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.

Was thinking about this thread earlier and decided to give it a whirl and try and organize it like an 80's album:

1. Gett Off

2. Cream

3. Diamonds & Pearls

4. Walk Don't Walk

5. Money Don't Matter 2Night

6. Willing & Able

7. Strollin'

8. Insatiable

Was thinking it could also end with Horny Pony, similar to Rock Hard in a Funky Place. The rest of the tracks would be good b-sides and outtakes we all wished were released lol

1. Thunder

2. Live 4 Love

3. Cream

4. Do your dance

5. Money Don't Matter 2Night

6. Gett Off

7. Gangster Glam

8. Clockin the Jizz

9. Violet the Organ Grinder

This is how my album looks (as Ive configured on my iPod).

I eliminated the boring ballads (whats the point of them?) and the interesting jazzy" sougs (walk dont walk - yawn), and filled it with funk. Obvuiosly push and jughead are nowhere to be seen and I never want to hear those songs ever again in my life.

I changed the order round, lets open with 2 explosive songs thunder/L4L (yes despite the boring Tony M rap). Cream and Do your dance are great together,

mdmt in the middle for some balance.

then the funk fest that is getoff/GG/CTJ and the opus at the end - Violet the organ grinder with the amazing claire fisher arrangement at the end of the album.

perfect for me.very listenable, no tracks to skip.
