Imagine

John Lennon

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religon too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

Imagine no possesions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
In a brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say i'm a dreamer
But i'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will be as one

We don't give a damn
We just want to jam
Party up (Party up, got to party up)
That Army bag
Such a double drag
Party up (Party up, got to, got to, got to party up)
(Party) Got to party down, baby
Revolutionary rock and roll
Goin' Uptown, baby,
How you gonna make me kill somebody
I don't even know?
They got the draft, uh, uh
I just laugh
Party up (Party up, got to party up)
Fightin' war is such a fuckin' bore
Party up (Party up, got to, got to, got to party up)

(Party) Uh, uh, got to party down, babe
Ooh, it's all about what's in your mind
Goin' Uptown, baby,
I don't wanna die I just wanna have a bloody good time
Party up
Got to party up
Party up
Got to party up
Because of their half-baked mistakes
We get ice cream
No cake
All lies
No truth
Is it fair to kill the youth?
Party up
Party up
Got to party up yeah
Got to party up babe, ooh
Got to party up yeah
Got to party up babe, ooh
Got to party up yeah
Oooh ooh
Got to party up babe, ooh
Got to party up yeah
Got to party up babe, whoo
Yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah
(Party up - gotta party up)
Party up - Got to party up baby {repeated}

Revolutionary Rock and Roll

Party up - gotta party up
Party up - gotta party up
Party up - gotta party up
Party up - gotta party up
Party up - gotta party up
Party up - gotta party up, babe
Party up - gotta party up {continues in background}
you're gonna have to fight your own damn war
Cuz we don't wanna fight no more

you're gonna have to fight your own damn war
Cuz we don't wanna fight no more

you're gonna have to fight your own damn war
Cuz we don't wanna fight no more

you're gonna have to fight your own damn war
Cuz we don't wanna fight no more
I said we don't wanna fight no more (gonna have to fight your own damn war)
Cuz we don't wanna FIGHT NO MORE!

This so called "war" is a crock of shit. I am ashamed to be British.

There is never any justfication for killing people with pre-meditation.

I am so cynical that I have gotten to the point where I believe that George Bush's administration engineered the attack on the World Trade Center to drum up sympathy for his dispute with a third-world country. A third-world country which the British and American governments sold arms to from the early 80s to mid 90s...

The Western World gave Iraq enough rope to hang itself with. How many children have died already through UN Trade Sanctions not allowing the export of medicines and food into that country? How many fat-arsed business men in London and Manhattan have seen their profits soar because although the UN didn't allow imports to Iraq, they would still allow the country to export its oil?

Its sick. Its all wrong. Saddam Hussein is a dictator and his Human Rights violations should be brought to book. But how is dropping bombs on innocent people, freeing Iraq from it's dictatorship?

The people of Iraq are not even the most fundamentally religious people in the Middle East! Women don't have to cover their faces; Western Pop Music plays on the radio; You can buy alcohol and there are nightclubs and bars...

I'm not defending Saddam Hussein - I just think there are worse places to live in the world. People go "missing" in other parts of the world and Human Rights are violated in many places - but we don't drop bombs on these countries!

Dr. Robert Mugabe in Zimbabwe is just as evil as Saddam Hussein, but do we start a war with Zimbabwe? No... We send the English Cricket Team over there! It'd be a different story if Zimbabwe was sat on a century's reserves of oil.

Anyway... Here's my song. Its The Windows Of The World by Dionne Warwick, written by the God-Like genius that is Burt Bacharach.

The Windows Of The World
(Burt Bacharach & Hal David)

The windows of the world are covered with rain,
Where is the sunshine we once knew?
Ev'rybody knows when little children play
They need a sunny day to grow straight and tall.
Let the sun shine through.

The windows of the world are covered with rain,
When will those black skies turn to blue?
Ev'rybody knows when boys grow into men
They start to wonder when their country will call.
Let the sun shine through.

The windows of the world are covered with rain,
What is the whole world coming to?
Ev'rybody knows when men can not be friends
Their quarrel often ends where some have to die.
Let the sun shine through.

The windows of the world are covered with rain,
There must be something we can do.
Ev'rybody knows whenever rain appears
It's really angel tears.
How long must they cry?
Let the sun shine through.
