well of course he does i was standing in line at Lunds once and there was a commotion from the freezer section of the store. i turned around to see a mob of ladies chasing someone down the aisle and as the chaos drew nearer i could make out prince in the center of a big crowd of fans, fighting his way clear. one lady tried to snatch at the back of his pants but he did a nice spin and dodged her, ducking low under the arms of another gal who was trying for a side hug. he was clutching to his chest a bag of doritos and a carton of breyers mint chocolate chip ice cream which was melting and had left a splotch on his green silk tunic. i felt sorry for the guy so i let him take my place in line and as he passed he said 'yo!' in a grateful sort of way. i think *

I've spoken to him several times over the years, just small talk mostly. He's has always been very polite, even when escorted (read threw) me out of Paisley Park one afternoon.
You were thrown out of PP? Do tell.

The first time I went to PP, it was a wed Morning. I'd met him a couple of times in Europe in 87 and 88 and 90, but I was very excited to be a PP, so instead of just looking on from the gate, I tried my luck and wondered in. The doors were open and there was no security. So I just kept going. I got the shock of my life to see P and the band (93) all sitting chatting in the atruim. They spotted me, quickly realised I shouldn't be there, and P got up, very polite and led me back out, apologising that I'm not allowed in. Had a quick chat at the door and I left.
I got back to the gate, and my friend, who didn't risk coming in with me said, "Did you see anything?", I said , "Yeah....strangely...Prince".

He was very friendly, and said sorry, but you can't be here because we are rehearsing. So 5'1" Prince, led 6'2" me out with a gentle hand in my back. He said I looked familiar and I told him about the many shows I had been too. He remembered me from a chat we had about unreleased music in Utrect on the SOTT tour, laughed about it, and he invited me to go to Glam Slam that night (he didn perform).
Before I knew it, he had me out the door and security lock it. He's a pro.

I once had a dream that I was at one of his concerts in the front row. He was singing little red corvette and it was the Musicology tour. He reached his hand out to me and I touched his arm. But thats it. I need to have a dream like chriss did. I would give him anything I had in my purse except for my wallet of course. Thats why I always keep a pack of crackers in my purse just in case.
You are hilarious!

That's a wonderful little anecdote, thanks for sharing. Oh to be a fly on the wall...it would have made for an amusing photograph! "I'm much too hot to be cool" |

Nice story. I really would like to hear Prince his side of this. I can imagine him leading you out at 10 AM but also many other fans on other hours in day.

Talked to him a few times over the years, first was in 2000, if you are around pp chances are you will talk to hkm at some point, once in 2002 had a short conversation about releasing the xenophobia/xp3ctation album, then again in 2010 had about an hour or more chat to him on just about everything Hard to believe I've been on the org for over 25 years now! |

I had an 'interaction' with him once at one of the O2 after show parties. I'm not sure which one as I went to a few lol. Anyway the DJ was playing, people were drinking and dancing and out of the back area I noticed Prince peeking right by the door, where I was standing.I didn't overreact and start screaming 'OMG Prince!', I kept my cool. I gave him a respectful nod, he gave me a respectful nod. I thanked him discretely for an awesome show, he said I was very welcome. Then I left him in peace to checking out his own party. Then people started to notice he was there and came rushing manicly towards him - he did a runner then! Lol. [Edited 7/4/14 4:59am]

He grabbed my hand when I reached for him at a Tamar concert as he looked me in the eye and smiled...he also put his guitar in my hands at the end of the show and it wound up being a picture on the NPGMC website back in 07. It was one of the best moments of my life! & |
