Nothing Compares 2 U - Promo Video

Why Why Why.. is this video a complilation of former videos with "THE PERFORMANCE" of the song?? WHY is the video Just not just the performance of the Live recording.

I understand part of it was to promote the "Hits" package, but the editing makes it look unofficial, and they needed filler for those parts.. why not record new video footage and make it a True video, I'm sure it would have been promoted better.. We know Prince did his damnest to take this song back. Just wanted to see what u all think.

I'm not sure a better video would've helped him 'take the song back' since he has been musically unable to do so.

The live versions on the recent Hit & Run Part 2 tour shit all over any other version ever recorded.

Completely agree , after all the years of playing this song i always thought he never did it proper justice , BUT this year he completely re-owns it .

It's a studio song...but as far as the singing goes, he doesn't even sing it but 50%. He holds the Mic up to the crowd to sing at most shows I've been to. A shame.

My favorite version of this song. I was at the show where the performance footage was taken from, Superbowl afterparty at Paisley Park in Jan 92. Always cool to see footage from a show you were at. I saw Prince do it with Shelby J last October at Paisley Park and she ruined the song.

I honestly think Sinead's studio version is superior to anything Prince can do with the song (and yes, I seen him do it at the arena shows I went to last month)

I got two sides... and they're both friends.

I don't think it got much TV aiplay back in the days anyway: PC and NC2U were pretty much ignored, Peach was THE single from that comp.

the studio version with the Revolution (pre Parade arrangement) is the one, sounds like Another Lonely Christmas, guitar solo ...

And I think the Family version is perfection. Sinead has no feeling to me, maybe that's what she was going for that numbness after a breaku? The Family definately has a lot of emotion and expression to theirs

Huh? There's no such thing as a studio version with The Revolution. A rehearsal version maybe? eek

I find Sinead's version dull and lifeless. At it's heart, NC2U is a soul song. Ain't no soul in her version. Clearly, she had a huge hit with it so I might be alone in that opinion, but that's OK with me.
