on the linear notes on the last Shalamar album it mentions, Prince thanks for the jam session...wonder if he had anything to do with this group...maybe if I asked Pir Neilson huh?

they were Fans of One another but nothing going on until around 82 when Jesse Johnson did a Un-credited Guitar Solo on "Dead-Giveaway".Shalalmar were Big fans of Prince&His First Band.as Handclaps pointed out "Don't get caught in Beverly Hills" was a Foray into Minni-Ville.but the Minniapolis Flavor really kicked in on there 1987 Album where Mikki Free took over especially on "Circumstantial Evidence".Mikki was down with Prince for a minute as well.Rumors of Doing a Film together&Joing Mazaratti.

The last incarnation of Shalamar is not really Shalamar. Those people were not original members. Howard Hewett, Jeffrey Daniels, and Jody Watley were Shalamr. A very understated group. But Prince did produce a song on one of Howard Hewett's cds though.

If i remember,P wrote a song called "allegiance" for a hewett solo album back in the '90s.Look like they were in touch before that.
"Make that move" still dancing on it!

Mikki thought he was Prince .So did Georgio!! I remember Mikki complaining that a club in LA made him wait in line and they let Prince in without waiting. He flt he should get the sme treatment. Look at those Shalamar album covers of the time.Mikki even wore lingerie.LOL
