Honestly, I think if you dropped The Hits/B-Sides into anyone's lap, it's the best representation of Prince's body of work and growth as a performer. Every genre is covered (except for maybe his foray into jazz in the early 2000s) at its best iteration. . I think that hits collection -- even if put against similarly-sized collections by any other artist -- holds its own in music history. |

Chronologically 1. When You Were Mine 2. Uptown 3. Head 4. Do Me Baby 5. Sexuality 6. 1999 7. Little Red Corvette 8. DMSR 9. The Beautiful Ones 10. Computer Blue 11. Pop Life 12. Kiss 13. Sometimes It Snows in April 14. Adore 15. Joy in Repetition 16. Diamonds and Pearls 17. Power Fantastic 18. Shhh 19. So Dark 20. Strange But True I like some of his 2000s work, but I don't think any of the individual songs are good enough to bump something off the above list, which is why it ends where it does. Everybody has their tastes though. I do LOVE purple Rain as an album, I'd just been listening to Musicology when I wrote this haha. It's SO hard to pick favourites! One song I've really started to love too is Girls & Boys!.. Oh and New Position!

For the last day or so, I've been listening to MPLS radio. Not owning many bootlegs historically, I'm amazed at how every time I listen to radio, I'm introduced to new Prince (related) songs...this is also coming from a fan who 1st heard Prince in 83. Favs change readily and we're fortunate, cause there's so much. At this moment, 1sts to come to mind are: 1 Calhoun Square 2 Power Fantastic 3 Pink Cashmere 4 Dreamer 5 Still would stand all time 6 Dinner with Delores 7 Insatiable 8 Letitgo 9 Computer blue 10 Diammonds & pearls 11 Musicology 12 Fixurlifeup (really has grown on me) 13 Until ur in my arms again (genius) 14 Billy jack bitch 15 Glam slam 16 Planet earth 17 Everywhere 19 Play in the sunshine (please bring this forward Prince) 20 Sex It's endless for us as fans.
