Prince's demands include no stairs

Prince has issued a list of demands for hotels he stays at which includes ''no stairs'', paintings of animals or faces and ''obstructive rugs''.

Prince refuses to use stairs.

The 'Purple Rain' hitmaker's list of tour accommodation demands have been revealed and as well as preferring to take the lift in hotels, he has also banned paintings or photographs of faces or animals and ''obstructive rugs'' in rooms he stays in.

A source told The Sun newspaper: ''Prince's list of demands has been going out to all his hotels in the UK before he arrives at them.

''His requests all have to be fulfilled or he won't turn up to play.''

It's not the first time the 55-year-old singer - who performed two shows at Camden Roundhouse in north London last night (04.06.14) - has had wac demands when on tour in the UK.

During his 2007 residency at London's The O2, he wanted to have a five-bedroom house built next to the venue to make it easier for him to get to his gigs.

In 2011, the legendary star also reportedly ordered a limo to take him just 80ft from his dressing room to the stage at the Hop Farm Festival in Kent, South East England.

Prince and his all-female rock band 3RDEYEGIRL are in the middle of their 'Hit and Run Tour' and performed back-to-back gigs last night.

They will now head to Vienna Stadthalle for a show on Saturday (07.06.14).

Prince is a DIVA! But he has earned the right 2 b..... He is the KING of stage....

I think Prince´s demands look pretty tame compared to the often outrageous and silly lists of other stars. Even during the heyday of Purple Rain his tour rider didn´t include anything special, and his tour rider during the Musicology tour looked very humble for an artist of his calibre.

Then again, I have only seen two or three tour riders and I know this is not really about tour riders but hotels, but still.

Yup. He's got to baby himself if he's keeping a grueling schedule and still going on stage doing his old moves. I also get how staying in one too many hotels with bad art on the walls, or just eyes following you around might lead to a poor nights sleep. It's not like he's demanding all the rooms be covered in fuschia satin, or some rock star crap.

Yep...thats what I was thinking. I find it hard to accept that he is getting older but hey, like you said, HE IS STILL FUNKY!

Yeah the rug and stairs one concerns his health. I wonder if he has had surgery yet. I have heard hip injuries are very painful. Sucks getting old.

yeah, i heard he has hip problems but he wont undergo surgery because it involves stuff that JW's dont agree with.

Back in like '98 or summin. Us knuckleheads didn't find out till after we drove the hour out to the venue. There was four if us. Me, a chick from work, her dude, and a little cutie who was a blind date for me.


I did, however, see a fly as hell pink, cherried up classic caddy convertable...bumpin 'pink casmiere' on an impeccable system with a fly as hell girl in the passenger seat and a cool brotha with an outrageous afro driving...it was a beautiful scene. Musta been...I still 'member 15 years later.

Eye was suppose to go to that show! Chaka was on the bill also. It was on my B-day! We found out it was cancelled that same night. sad

A friend of ours worked as a concierge at a Holiday Inn in Fresno, CA. Prince was in town for a show and she met up with him in the elevator. She asked if he needed anything and he requested that they cover up the window's in his room with foil. They did as he requested.

I unno...we hit claim jumpers once we found out the gig was canceled. I ain't did no homework other than how to get my refund from the Ticketmaster outlet at the local 'The Wherehouse'...remember that place...lol.

With all the James Brown type of splits he used to do, it's no wonder that he has hip problems, not to mention the years of wearing high heels. I'm a woman, and I can no longer wear the heels I used to back in the day, and I didn't wear them nearly as much as it seems Prince did, not to mention the way he used to do all of his performances in them. Heel are murder on the feet, so I can only imagine what they did to him after years of use. As for the stairs thing, I'm guessing that it's probably his hips or bad knees, as for the reason why he says no stairs. I have stairs in my home, and I hate them, because they hurt my bad back and sometimes my knees, so I can understand that.
