When Will We B Paid - Who's With Me? I really like this track. Amidst some of the dross of the last few years (TRC, all 2002's CDs excluded) this track stands out like a beacon for me.
I think it could have gone on TRC quite nicely too, especially if John Blackwell had been called in to play drums on it. It's nicely produced, has some good vocals, and some genuine passion. What do u think? Like it? Don't like it? I think it deserves more appreciation.

Well get it out again. Having said that, if it's on a single, and with only 'U Make My Sunshine' on the other side I can't imagine getting it out. It's on my PC though so it's ready to hand. Love it! p.s. nice new avatar by the way. ... [This message was edited Tue Mar 18 10:27:59 PST 2003 by sawatdiikhrap]

It sounds like a huge submarine rising from the waves.
Truly, one of the most emotional songs he's recorded.

When he originally started playing it live it was the bomb, but the versions that he played on the Hit and Run tour weren't very good. The studio recording is so so.

I seen him sing it with Mavis and one of her sisters at a Paisley party once and tears fell from her eyes. It was very touching

Originals are always better.
But Prince turns it out well. His "Black rights" song usually leave a bad taste in my mouth, but this is just a kick ass track. --------------------
