How many examples are there of prince losing his temper One that comes to mind is Brown Mark saying P cussed him out on stage.
Did he really fight with Sinead?
Anyone see him lose it on stage or in public to a fan or band member or tour crew etc?

Thanks. He says it with an amused tone, though. . I guess I have that Nude Tour rehearsal as well but either I still haven't listened 2 it or I did it 20 years ago and never paid attention. I hope I run in2 it one day. . The girl from Lipsitck Alley, whose authenticity seems legit even though I wouldn't necessarly buy each and every one of her story 4 being factual, said that in maybe 1990 (don't remember 4 sure), had a HUGE (verbal) fight with W&L at a Paisley Park party, him and Wendy really shouted at each other and called each other names, left abruptly, Susannah tried 2 hold him back and he gave her a really mean look so she let him go. About a year after that he had someone from his staff send them a note saying he really thought they'd done a great job with Eroica. All from memory as I didn't copy the thread and it's gone now. . I never bought Sinead's story, it's totally out of character. He may have told her something really mean but hit her? No way. That Lipstick Alley girl told a whole bunch of really mean stories about but she also said he really, deeply despised women beaters and was always polite with women save that one time with W&L. IIRC. Days Of Wild is 's obvious answer 2 Sinead's allegations. . Oh yeah, that girl also said that once 's stepfather, who lived with his mom in a house had bought them, once called him 2 ask 4 a bigger house and (who basically despised the man and was only being generous out of a family sense of duty) got totally mad that this man who used 2 treat him like shit when he was a kid dared ask him for more and he just said nothing to the guy, hung up and threw the phone thru the window and after that he was really upset 4 a moment. How the Lipstick Alley girl knew who was on the other side of the line and why he threw the phone, she doesn't say (so basically either told her but that's unlikely because it seems they weren't close, or he told someone who told her, or she made it up). . Another one that pops up from that same thread: apparently believed that he could get his masters back the same way he could get the ones from the Paisley Park albums if he'd find a way to terminate his contract with WB, and one day in 94 he came back from a meeting with either WB or his lawyers (don't remember) and he had been explained that there was no way he could get the masters back and he was totally mad, on the verge of crying, really really upset. . Like I said above there's no way 2 know whether this girl really was a Paisley Park employee between 89 and 94 as she claimed, nor how much of what she told was true or not, but her accounts were extremely detailed and knowing as much as I do about 's life and career I found almost everything she told 2 be extremely cohesive and believable. Making such a documented and believeable hoax would have required a huge knowledge about 's life and career AND a huge talent at lying. Only a few dates were slightly wrong, and some stories such as having a love child in UK also seem totally unlikely 2 me but most of the rest was solid stuff. But we'll never know 4 sure... I seem to remember that on one of the diamond and pearl gigs (Ireland?), the crowd were chanting the football tune 'ole, ole, ole'. And he said "if you do that shit one more time,I'm walking off" That was in the Per Nelson biography book. P-p-e-n-g-u-i-n......the P is silent

He also got reasonably mad at the engineer guy at 19th May gig in a birminghsm this tour....his microphone was set way too high for the first song so he got the guy to run on and adjust it, something else wasbt right so the guy ran back on and Prince flicked out his hand with a clear "stop!!!" action (poor guy furby know what to do) and then glared at him whilst he left the stage P-p-e-n-g-u-i-n......the P is silent

On the Funk City boot (a Lovesexy rehearsal), you can hear Prince scream to Levi after a screw-up, "You're fired, bitch! FIRED, FIRED, FIRED," stomping his foot 3 times for emphasis, which Levi responds to by chuckling, "O.K." It was definitely feigned rage, though. "That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide."

At the aftershow at the Live Music Hall, Cologne 28th December 1998 the infamous "Cigarette break" happened: Some people apparently were smoking weed, so Prince stopped the concert, left the stage and had Candy tell the audience in german that he would only come back if eveyone would put out their "funny cigarettes".He also had the side doors of the venue opened to bring in fresh air.
Wasn't really losing his temper but was visibly annoyed and all in all your typical Prince stunt. After that the show went on and for me was one of the greatest P aftershows i have ever attended.
On the respective Sabotage boot (Rock This Joint) (http://prince.org/msg/7/386634) the cover even has it included as part of the first track: 1. Days Of Wild (incl. a cigarette break)

He has been known to smash sand dollars Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Oh God, i live for stories like these. I just find them so funny, Prince is like a child at times with his temper. But the man is a workaholic I guess, and other people sometimes don't share the amount of passion he has for things sometimes.
Where can I see/hear the thing with him getting mad on the nude tour??
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Isn't Prince by nature short tempered? The whole cold persona he's known for is an example of a person that's permanently lost their temper. I guess this thread's about temper tantrums.

I think it was Eric Leeds that told the story about that during one of the LA Lovesexy shows he wore a LA Dodgers uniform on stage and Prince got mad and yelled "Docked!" It was part of a bet Eric made about the world series or something like that. "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!"

There also an interview where she talks about it in person. It is such a BIZZARE story, I simply can't believe it. The way she talks about it in person though, it would be equally bizzare if she was making it up. I got two sides... and they're both friends.
