Andre Cymone any good?

How does Andre Cymone rate as a bass player among all the bass players Prince has had over the years? For those of you lucky enough to see the tour with Rick James in '79/80 and the Dirty Mind tour how good was Andre? I believe Pepe Willie has said in interviews that Andre was just as talented as Prince but is this true?
