The "was Heaven edited by bootleggers" dilemma is solved!!!

We had a thread about this recently.

.

Roaming thru my outtakes I've just realized that I have TWO versions of Heaven (both from the internet so don't ask me what boot they from, though one has to be from Work It 2.0 and I suspect it's the complete one). One of those versions is 7:44 as opposed to the old 7:09 version that starts so abruptly. The longer version indeed has a real begining before prince starts singing.

.

I'm totally shocked that 1. I'd never even realized that I had this b4 and that 2. no one mentioned that version in the first thread.

.

So yeah the old version had been butchered by evil bootleggers but rejoice for the full version has, in fact, been circulating 4 years biggrin

The full version you are refering to is edited
The intro is was taken from the middle of the song and looped

My version from Work It 2.0 is 7:12. I can't find a complete one. Perhaps you can figure out what boot it came from, and post here without giving away too much info or breaking site rules here. Thanks.

The version of "Heaven" on "Work It 2.0" is 7:12. Same length on "Dreams".

I also have an edit version from "Love 2 Sexy [WECU]" (5:35).

I don't have the complete/fake version.

I can't believe this popped up again...

Back in '89 or '90 I was close to someone who was good friends with these guys who were well connected in the trading circles. That version of "Heaven" (assuming it's the same one) was a hatchet job I did with a cassette deck just make it more listenable until I could get the full version (which I never did). Somehow it made its way into the circuit but I thought it would have been exposed as a fake and long forgetten by now. I hope no one ever paid money for that thing!

Forgive me of course if this is an entirely different song but I'd be amazed if two of us took the time to re-edit a song as overlooked as "Heaven" smile
