Their newer albums after Gaslight seem to be a lot less accessible across the board. I am actually in the same boat as you at the moment. I'm an analogue guy so bought Gaslight on vinyl from their site (despite having the CD). Was expecting to get slugged for shipping (to Australia) but was pleasantly surprised that it was only $10.

After I purchased the LP I went to iTunes to buy AM and Live and lo and behold they are not available. May have to end up buying these from their site as well (pain in the @$$) on CD $15 each and $10 shipping.

Have heard samples from both releases and they sound incredibly funky. Just a pity we can't get them digitally as I think most prefer that over CD's (sans vinyl).

This is true, but I live in Britain and the cost for buying the stuff I want with shipping costs taken into account is a bit too expense atm. I do like having physical media, but in this instance I wouldn't particularly mind a digital release if it means me avoiding shelling out a ton on shipping.

This came up in a discussion on the Org last year. This was my reply: "Last year my band wanted to cover one of his songs on our album. We sent a letter asking for permission and did not get a response in 90 days. After which we sent a letter informing them that we had recorded and were going to include the song. About 10 days later we get a certified letter telling us we could not use it. We sent a third letter telling them tough, we were using it anyway. We then get an email asking for a copy and any changes or deviations listed. We then got a letter listing things we could, and could not do like, 1) Produce or record visual promotion for a release (music video), 2) Perform the song live 30 days prior to the writer (You know who) appearing in Hong Kong, Macao, or within 100 miles of an announced venue, and a few others I don't remember that had to do with the way credits would be listed or something. The big kicker was something like "in lieu of royalties, payments or other monies owed, a donation will be made to a legitimate charity of conscience" or something like that. My band is based in mainland China, so I am sure that had a lot to do with it."

Those are Prince's songs and creations not theirs. Paul abruptly left & abandoned the group decades ago....

Since when? People have been calling Prince names since I came on this site 15 years ago.

I do understand that the mods can do whatever they choose to do around here (apparently). However, if the rules have changed, please have the decency to let us know.

Prince has been flamed on this site forever. There was a recent thread stating he is an asshole. Whether you guys think that is good or bad, the point is, flaming has been allowed.

There have been posts that were not snipped of people telling Prince to go fuck himself, fuck off and any variation thereof. To state otherwise is just not true. If that is not going to the case going forward, just change the rule and post it to the official rules.

I may curse every now and then but some orgers take it to a personal level. Some folks have called Prince everything but a child of God and that just shouldn't be allowed.

I agree with this. I have even used those exact words here before. The only beef I have is that, if things are changing, we should be told.

If Ben has decided this is going to be a kinder, friendlier place, it's his right to do so. Censorship blows though.
