To who ever has heard the 'I'll Do Anything' medley. There's a version of the song at 4:15 of the medley, that's slowed down and has additional lyrics. I dislike 'I'll Do Anything', but that segment sounds really good, like it could have been a good song. Does anybody know anything about this? Was it an alternative version?

What are the lyrics? At 4:15 (on two different versions of the medley that I seem to have) I've got a bit of instrumental from I Can't Love You Anymore--which is slow--, but when it comes to the next lyrics they're from a version of "Wow" (I think from the version I've got labeled as the "ensemble" version, which is a minute and half or so as a separate track). That's what I've got on the medley.

As far as "I'll Do Anything" itself, there's the poppy little one, then another Prince recording that's pretty stripped back, rough and raw sounding in comparison, with a lot of alternate lyrics. It's a lot different. That's also the basis for the one from the cast recording (which has Albert Brooks as vocalist, not Nick Nolte, in spite of what Princevault says. Brooks is the vocalist on the cast There Is Lonely, too--Princevault doesn't identify anyone there).

Thanks Eddie! I've just realised there are different versions of the medley. On the version I've just come across, the segment I'm talking about begins at 2:48. The additional lyrics are minor, 'I've got no shame, or only if it's easy (not sure about that bit), honey I'll change anything you dissaprove of', (they're between 'I'll do double 2 have your love' and 'I'll move mountains 2 make U happy'). It's slower and there's a woman singing with Prince.

Hmmm.... listened to it again; only way I have this is as part of the medley. Are you sure it's Prince on vocals?

i don't like the medley, but i do love the original song
it always bothered me that he didn't put some of those

songs on the Vault album, yet did include songs from a

totally different era. so i made my own version

It's such a nice mellow album with a few jazzy cuts
