Prince has had an illustrious career and considering the type of honorees BET Honors have on their show (Herbie Hancock, Chaka Khan to name a few), could anybody picture agreeing to accept the honor if presented? Last year, he agreed publicly through Billboard magazine that he planned on attending the Carnegie Hall tribute to him and then the night of the ceremony he was a no-show. Who knows what his reasons were for not attending. But I can't imagine Prince dressed in black tie at a black tie event.

I dunno know: I can't see him getting caught up with BET (again). BET did a tribute for him in 2010, and he had a hand in choosing all the acts that honored him

I don't see why not. BET usually allow the honoree to pick and choose the artists they want to perform during their tribute. If he can sit through the ghetto BET Awards, I think he would want to be involved in the BET Honors, which is a more mature crowd and classy affair.

But then again, he may still be sour about BET allowing Trey Songz to destroy "Purple Rain".

I doubt he would. Stephen Hill tried for years to get him 2 b honored for the BET Awards. Prince is a very humble brotha...He doesn't need many accolades to know he is special.Like Mj did. Everyone in the muziq industry looks up to him already, now especially since he just retained ownership of his Master recordings. The question should b if he would let the Grammy's honor him? He should be giving a SPECIAL Grammy in his honor 4 retaining ownership. Also shold have a statue in his honor built in the Grammy museum...
