Hi. Sorry for the long intro. This is what you should tell them first:

"What albums have u heard? The best way to listen to prince is to go album by album. Most HITS, as they say, also have long or extended studio versions you might dig. The songs are too many to list.

What are your tastes? By HITS, do you mean you have heard the album version of "If I was Your Girlfriend"? Anyway, since you asked, here's my two cents. Hope you have a good time and don't get daunted by the sheer number of songs.

If you dig Prince for being Prince and like the fact that he makes all types of popular music, remember the key is — you have to let the songs breathe. Give them time to grow on you, and don't dismiss songs after a first listen. I am not including unreleased songs or outtakes, that will come later for you if you stick around Princeworld.

This is a completely random list off the top of my head of 22 easy-to-get-hold-of songs. If you take the trouble to hunt them up, you'll likely come across more songs yourself...
