Why doesn't PRINCE still do the splits or hardly dance anymore...Is he getting to old?

I can't imagine him doing the splits to the more jazzier music of the 'One Night Alone' Tour. It just doesn't suit either Prince's image or the music now.

However, I'm sure he's still capable of them. Check the 'Rave In2 the Year 2000' video/DVD and you'll see him spilt about 5 times during 'Talking Loud and Saying Nothing'.

That's a really good question. I remember he didn't do them when I saw him here in Atlanta, about two summers ago. I was disappointed, but quickly got over it because the concert was still off the chain! Would I be way out of my league wishing that Prince could go back to dancing his a$$ off like he did on "Housequake" from the Sign O' Times movie? (when he said "I think it's Cat" and slid across the floor on his back-THAT WAS SO FIE!!!)

Hmmm...the last time I saw him do the splits was on Oprah.
Im sure some of his splits are unplanned so maybe he hasn't had the urge to split.

The whole point of the ONA shows was a disassociation from the manufactured stage show pop of Britney, J.Tiberlake etc. ONA was about the music first and foremost. The stripped down stage, conservative dress and lack of theatrics and dancing is all part of the concept. I'm sure he will return to dancing a little more (we have to rememeber he is not super human and regardless of how good he looks at 44 the human body does start to limit what u can do) and i'm sure he will dress wildly again. Not as wildly as b4 maybe because of his JW beliefs.

I thought it was genius of Prince in an age where every1 is doing massive stage productions with pyrotechnics, dancers and costumes to do the EXACT opposite (as usual).

I'm willing to bet £50 that Prince will do the splits again. Who wants some of that?

i'll take some of that action! i'll raise it 2 £100 that he does the splits, and another £100 if he can get up again.

Trust me.. those splits do serious damage to the knee..
especially on hard stage.

Even on carpet..
Even with the spring in the metal heel.

If you wanna see splits, heck, just watch gymnastics. They do them all the time on the floor and up in the air on equipment. And they REALLY do them...all the way...scissor to the max and "German" splits, sprawled left to right.

If he starts stretching he can do a split. But what really amazes me is that he can hit the high notes with perfection at age 44.

I saw James Brown do the splits at 60 so I don't see why Prince couldn't do it now if he wanted.

Them bones don't move like they use to! Prince ain't 20-something no more...not to mention James!
