The icon, 55, opened up to Essence in the June "Prince After Dark" issue about why he stopped using dirty words.

Prince, of course, was once known for his explicit lyrics. The 1984 song "Erotic City," for example, uses the F-word several times.

That's all changed.

"Did you ever hear Muhammad Ali curse?" he said. "Would you curse in front of your kids? To your mother? Marsha [Ambrosius], Lianne [La Havas], Janelle [Monae] … They're all my sisters. We shouldn't curse at them. We need to treat all of them, and all people, like royalty."

Prince, who is empowering minds with #YesWeCode, performs July 4 at the Superdome in New Orleans at the 20th anniversary of the Essence Festival, taking place July 3-6.

Oh for crying out loud! I'm just sitting here seriously HOPING, what he means by that is The Revolution would have had a problem with doing whatever that was he called himself doing with Let's Go Crazy 2013, because I can agree with him on that and rightly so!

As for the "even though people would love to see us together...but I'm doing something else"...
