I don't think there's gona be any rock on this album so I doubt "Screwdriver", and "RNRLA" gona end up on it. Not sure about "Fallinlove2nite".. [Edited 4/25/14 7:50am]

Eventually you will get PE. It just might take longer if mr P doesn't do the job. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Releasing "PlectrumElectrum" first would have been a conflict of interest, Prince knowing that his secret wb negotiations deal would happen soon. Plus having a brand new album ready(not unusual for Prince!). That is the reason why PE hasn't been released yet. It would have sabotaged his new MEGA wb deal.....
Prince has turned into a very wise & smart business man... will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P.

I bet Plectrum Electrum will be realed with Kobalt or Epic without, the name Prince. I bet it's released as 3rd Eye Girl only. I bet that's why he spent so much time with 3rd eye, releasing songs and stuff so people will know 3EG is with him.

Could be. It appears his face isn't on the cover, only the inner artwork. "That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide."

Not stating that it's Prince album will hinder sales, surely? Releasing the album at the time of 3EG london gigs would have made a whole lot sense. Hundalasiliah!

You're probably right - the less than stellar sales of Plectrum... might have caused WB to either rethink the entire deal or certainy offer less money!!!! 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

I can assure you I have *never* waited for a Prince album like TRC. Ugh.

Wow y'all sure seem ready to drive the nails into the PE coffin. Hate to see that happen but Prince has left a trail of abandoned projects in his wake. If he decides not to release it I would hope he pulls the best tracks off it and puts them on his own album.

Well, yeah. Most people are willing to spend only a very limited amount of money on CDs, DVDs, books etc. these days. Even if they wouldn't be completely broke they can't justify the purchases when there's so much free stuff around as well.

I get the need to speculate and wonder and all that....I do it just as much as anyone... But reading this is like watching CNN talk about flight 370 debris and pings and what they mean. Fairly entertaining from an outside perspective....for five minutes. Then its just irritating and sad cuz everyone's the expert yet no one knows absolutely anything.

[Edited 4/25/14 14:58pm] sorry, we don't have the commercial here, so cannot really sympathise, but the image is quite funny, but would be classed as assault. Since P's new album is on WB label, would Andy had to have signed a contract/waiver so that P could use the songs she sings on, for the new album? . Not even that. Who'd spend money on yet another rubbish P album when they can listen over and over again to an improved version of a classic they love? © Bart Van Hemelen

Me too. And Bart, listening to the same classics over and over is bad for you, so is living in the past. You've been just as blindly critidcal as some fans have been blindly positive. If there's a renewed appreciation for his old catalog, you can be sure that the post Warner years will be reassessed. It won't be a blanket redemption but for sure some songs from that period need to be rediscovered at some point, as RS recently said.

Exactly people have to pay for electricity, internet service etc. How else will they make it known that a 10 dollar CD sent their family budget straight to hell! When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

. Sigh... Gotta love how famz never see beyond their own situation. So what if you who are obsessed with P will buy all three releases? The question is WILL THE PUBLIC? And we know the answer. . And his post-WB back catalogue will not be reassessed because it simply IS NOT AVAILABLE. And the reason for that is because NOBODY GIVES A FUCK. And yes, that includes Prince. Note how NONE of P's maginifcent business of the past 15+ years have cared about keeping his older, independently released music available. Hell, NPGMC made a point of rehashing WB tracks like "Horny Pony" and live recordings from the WB era, for the simple reason that these are what we care about. Note how NPGMC was launched by giving away free music that dated back to... 1985. © Bart Van Hemelen

Sorry Bart, you can't tell if that catalog will be reasessed because 1) you don't know if it he won't make what's not available now available again; 2) the fact these projects went largely unnoticed does not mean they don't have the potential to be assessed differently later, some artists have enjoyed such reassessments of their later work; 3) more importantly, you can say whatever you want about the past or the present, but your alk-knowingness doesn't extend to the future.
I don't think it would be wise to have three releases but since we have no say in the matter, why take these silly discussions so seriously like Prince is peering over the Org looking for clues on what to do?
Also, this may surprise you Bart, but between you and I, you win hands down at seeking Prince material old and new, whether you pay a cent or not. The affirmation that NPGMC put tracks like Horny Pony up because that's what "we" cared about is patently false -- NPGMC subscribers were there for the new music and perhaps a few morsels of his old stuff plus any live music, putting up Horny Pony in subpar quality doesn't look like a move to ardently leverage old songs -- don't you think he'd done it way more if your theory held any water?
I have an article to finish so we'll continue our 15 year old disagreement some other time.

Actually it will be interesting (for some of us at least, maybe not you Bart) to see whether anything does happen with the post WB albums Prince put out. All of them were through one-off P&D deals with various labels (majors like Universal, EMI, Arista, Columbia) and minors/independents. But these labels only handled P&D with Prince licensing them the use of the Master each time. For that reason Prince could (if there was interest) reissue those albums again with a different label - such as WB...hmmm 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.
