Was that a new song? Just got back from watching Prince on Saturday. I thought nothing could top the Fiday night but Saturday night was just utter madness. What a setlist nearly 3 hours. However the thread is the last song he played, I am a fanatic fan I have never heard this song, really strong chorus and the crowd was buzzing. Those who went please respond. Is it a cover version. A great song. Defo a highlight. The night was finished with a Remix of funknroll over the PA. Sounded tight in a Camille voice different than the live version.

If you're talking about the redevelopment of infrastructure in or about the Manchester area you can actually point out of the window and sing "Purple Train, Purple Train". But as I'm on a keyboard and want to ruin it for everybody the new song you heard was Whatever Happened To Pong by Frank Black.

According to Prince Vault, which amazingly already has the setlist up (thanks to @housequakecom apparently, is that someone here?) there was a song called Live It Up played as the last song. No idea where that title comes from, could be conjecture on the part of someone, or maybe they got a glimpse at the setlist. Whatever the case, these gigs are sure turning out interesting, first Electric Intercourse and now this, I hope the next gigs have similar suprises (might ease the pain of those who didn't get to hear Electric Intercourse in the flesh, like I did. ) Heavenly wine and roses seems to whisper to me when you smile...

I don't know, I was kind of dead by then so I don't remember, but I liked it!

3rd Eye should just rip it up and play no Prince songs. Fucken Manchester 16th just pissed me off with this hits revue. If I were loud enough I would have heckled Prince into playing the new, but alas I were too far away. Rock the mofo. And when I say rock i mean balance a rock on a soundwave until the rock clatters about a bit, but not like that pre-Portal game, like actually rock with the unexpected. Not that Prince is some monkey on elastic like Hawkwind or anything I type is remotely going to influence the course of events in this A theory Universe but for fucks sake just go back to being a symbol.
That is where it is at, otherwise we're just sat here in a warped patch of space-time with folds of very fat dimensions.

Bring on the new album. Good signs It's funny you say that - I was standing next to a man in his 40s and his 19ish daughter who thoroughly enjoyed the concert, but for her the best reaction was to Funknroll - when it finished she kept shouting 'oh my god' and you can tell she had really enjoyed it... So there are new prince songs that people enjoy!

Live It Up seems to be getting good responses on here and on twitter. Is there any further info on it at all? Hundalasiliah!

Live It Up last night was OUT OF THIS WORLD...
I see my self as quite a critical Prince fan and it probably takes more for me to be impressed with his new stuff than it does with others.. But seriously, Live It Up is gonna be big.
Hmmmm my description would be funky, euphoric, cool, QUALITY.
Never heard anything like it before..
Think of it this way.. You know when you hear a track for the first time that sounds that good, you think it must be a cover of a classic? Well THAT good.

Really? Wow. Does it sound more like a 3EG song or a solo Prince one? Hundalasiliah!

I'd go for solo Prince.. More funky dance than rock 3EG stuff.. Song of the night by a long way for me.. It got everyone up dancing at the end.. even the folks that were sat down all night. Powerful, positive and very euphoric. [Edited 5/18/14 4:27am]

I'd heard of the Isleys, but really only stuff like Shout and This Old Heart of Mine. Somehow missed all their 70's stuff (so I never even knew what a great guitarist Ernie Isley was). Been spending all day listening to Live It Up, The Heat is On, Harvest, Go For Your Guns, etc. Amazing stuff! Would love to hear Prince's cover.

Worded much more soberly I was merely expressing how frustrating it is not to be able to project cosmic amounts of joy towards a rock performance when one is feeling utterly monged for no good reason, apart from not having downed a barrel of sherry pre-gig.
Having said that and getting back to the topic, the ratty solo off of Isley Brothers' Live It Up just made me beam a very broad grin. You can see why that's popular!
