Do You Believe...... I see quite a few posts of people believing Plectrum Electrum will never be released. I think it will. My question is: DO BELIEVE PLECTRUM ELECTRUM WILL BE RELEASED EVENTUALLY? Yes or no.

At this point , I have actually lost interest.

Yep .. lost its momentum for me too.
Like the stuff and was truly excited, time killed it though.
Hoped he'd release it during the London visit ... now the wave of excitement has passed for me.
The new "hit" is too embarrassing for words ... Prince, a mature man, doing teen music ... forget it ...

At this point, probably not. I think he's more about the singles now, trying to put out something short and snappy that will grab people's immediate attention.

I believe it will be released, but he's obviously lost interest in albums, and he's lost interest in touring. He's so afraid of scalping, thinking that these last minute concerts is the way to go. He's far too out of touch with his fanbase to understand that the people who put money in his pockets in the 1980's are older, and have families and responsibilities. If tickets are not on sale at least 60-90 days in advance, then a lot of people can't go. Of course, these points have been rehased over and over. Being a Prince fan is always frustrating.

I'm sure it will be.
Unfortunately, this waiting game has become tiresome and frustrating. When this disc comes out, instead of feeling like "awesome, this is exciting!" it's going to be more like "fucking finally! fuck this album and fuck all the teasing bullshit!"
If this album isn't absoulutely fantastic enough to make me forget all the B.S., I'll just always have a negative association with it.
It's actually been that way with the Crystal Ball Set. So much frustration and bitterness around how that situation was handled, it's hard to not think about it when I try to play those cds.

Michael Jackson will soonhave had more albums out this decade than Prince.

It will eventually come out... if after a year of PUBLIC PLANNING for a release, if he fails to release it, it will make him look like a complete idiot.
Ideally, it would have dropped with little buildup, suddenly. Even a good album, appearing without warning, with a new direction, would have seemed significant, and garnered all sorts of praise and maybe some sales. But now, after a year, and a growing familiarity with 3rdEyeGirl as a band and sound... the album has to be better to make as much impact as a lesser album would have a year ago, or even six months ago (when there was touring and earlier singles buzz).

Hopefully the release is imminent. Maybe the last few weeks he's been knocking up some music videos or something, preparing for a well marketed release. ... it's possible. Hundalasiliah!

Coupled that with the fact that Prince doesn't have the producer credit on his new single and it's like we're in Bizarro World. |
