According to the vault there was a promo cd for P. Control

I was just wondering if anybody had heard these versions and how different they were

According to Princevault, the 2 clean versions and the Control The House Mix don't exist either , even more mysterious since their info comes from The Vault book!

The info also comes from a discography site that has a scan of the promo cover (not sure if i'm alowed to link to it) something like an in house reference cd rather than a true promo release

U're allowed to post links as long as no audio or video stream or download or selling of bootlegs is involved.

So both CDs were in-house? In that case they don't count as official releases indeed so they shouldn't appear in my discography, but the tracks should be listed at Princevault as unreleased.

Oooo looking at the vault they aren't the same... So maybe it was just in house like the 7 Marly Mixes (so won't qualify for your discography) ... And the page sells stuff so won't link.

looks fake to me, someone having a laugh (both the song and the rapper are routinely ridiculed on the org).

I actually won a ebay bid for this back in late 2003 for around $700. After I won the auction, I recived a number of emails from fellow collectors and disgruntled ebay members telling me that the cd was totally fake and the seller was also bogus. The seller was removed from ebay the following day. Thats all I know about that.

Very strange...

Yep, it is kinda strange. My thought at the time was a different version of "Da,Da'Da" or a remix could possibly exist based on the fact that the Emancipation words and music book featured completly different lyrics for the song. I was kinda stump that if that was a fake as I was told, why would someone try to knock off a fake promo cd for a Prince song that was probably peoples least favorite from that album. That's a Lex Luther right there.
