Guest Appearance by Prince on Rita Ora's 2ND CD confirmed

http://www.rap-up.com/201...new-album/

Already a household name overseas, Rita Ora has set her sights on conquering America with her sophomore album, which is set to feature some superstar collaborators including Macklemore and the legendary Prince.

While her 2012 self-titled debut was never released in the U.S., the follow-up will arrive stateside this summer.

“Conquering America for a U.K. artist is incredible because that’s what everybody wants and dreams about,” the British sensation told Paper magazine. “So yeah, I am a bit nervous. I am a bit scared, I’ll be honest.”

Her first single, “I Will Never Let You Down,” was produced by her boyfriend Calvin Harris. “It’s obviously a very important song to me because it’s a love song, but it reminds you of Whitney [Houston],” said Rita, who has already shot a video in L.A. “And that was the vibe we were on. We just wanted to feel good. You know that feeling of ‘How Will I Know’ with the synth? It just makes you feel happy; that’s what I wanted to create.”

She has also worked with Macklemore on a song called “Young Dreamers.” “It’s so cool. It’s for the kids, and it’s liberating and so fun,” shared Rita.

But she was most excited when she received a call from Prince. “We did a few tracks together. I flew to Minneapolis and went to Paisley Park, which is like his iconic studios and we just made music. I was there for a week. It was the best thing I have ever done in my life.”

The 23-year-old singer, who was just 17 when Jay Z signed her to Roc Nation, has developed a bond with her mentor throughout the years. “Now we’re at a place where I’ve grown up a little bit; it’s been two years since my last album,” she said. “It’s more of a brother-sister relationship really. He really cares about me and it’s nice to see a boss who also really wants you to succeed and he’s really doing everything in his power to make this perfect.”

Well, he can carry on fighting his age and releasing kiddy music and i'll go see Kate Bush in August.....An artist of the same age, not afraid of her age and releasing more interesting and innovative music than him.
I mean seriously....Rita Ora. Prince is having a mid-life crisis, folks.

Prince has always been a state of mid-life crisis biggrin Don't take it too seriously.

"London, i've adopted a name that has no pronounciation.... is that cool with you?"

"YEAH!!!"

"Yeah, well then fuck those other fools!"

Well its not like writing pop songs for hot chicks young enough to be his children is a drastic behaviour change. This is his personality. And thats Kate's personality. They've always been two very different artists. Prince is a pop (popular) artist at heart. Kate's more someone who sees music as a form of high art.

Change it one more time..

as big a fan as i am of kate bush..her last couple of albums have been hard going for me..i struggled with both aerial and 50 words for snow...i think lotusflower single disc is better than anything kate has done in the last few years..just my opinion of course...surely the reason he is working with young female artists is clear.

One of them says he wouldn't work with Nicki Minaj because "he doesn't work with rappers". I guess Chuck D, Flavor Flav, Q-Tip, Eve, Doug E. Fresh, Monie Love, etc., aren't rappers. I'll wait and see on his songs with Rita, she doesn't seem all that bad as the comments on here.

Wetdream - I like Kate Bush but really - she is not in the same league as Prince in any way - "art" (subjective) included.

How much of her art have we had to enjoy over the last 30yrs ? I've so enjoyed all those concerts she's performed during that period where she really shows the world her art...oh, er........

Sure it is quality not quantity - but I think it is pretty safe to say we've had heaps more of both with Prince over the years - constant expressions and creations from him - some we'll be amazed by, some we'll think good, some "meh" etc - but that's him putting it out there for it to be enjoyed and judged.

Sure, I'm not excited by the thought of him working with Rita Ora et al - but let's not confuse that with the overall picture of his artistic output - it's a legend looking to help out a younger artist - how bad of him !

Bunch of cynical old farts on this site.

How about we wait to hear the song first before bitching and complaining? If you don't like Rita Ora....here's an idea..... don't listen to the song.

I for one will enjoy it and blast it loudly if it's any good, while you lot wallow in your misery.
