I don't really understand that criticism and concerns for specific parts of an artists work or output means that one can't be a fan. Does being a fan mean that one must unabashedly love every part of an artist's output without question? Or is there room for a fan to have preferences towards specific items within an artist's work?

I'm a fan of pizza. But I don't really care for dessert-based pizzas.
