No way, that's the best wig in order to compensate for his smallness!

The question is how did you arrive at the assumption that it is a wig? Most wigs are neatly shaped and cut. Prince's 'fro appears natural, just like natural, black hair grown out but not shaped or cut.

I believe the purpose of the fro is

to cover up the hearing aids he now

wears.

Thank you. Some people will never get black hair despite how much you try to educate them on the subject.

The fro is definitely growing on me. Although I wish he'd stop pulling the sides down awkwardly over his ears. At certain angles, it looks like he's wearing hair ear muffs smile

Prince has always had a great style. From 83 and onwards (aside from his ultimate low poing NPS)his different styles have been fantastic. The fro, whether a wig or not, is the most uncool thing of his career. That and this chaplin cane makes it almost unbarable to watch him. The fro in connection with Prince's racial issues makes the whole thing even more dubious.

Think of it this way. He probably got rid of his make-up person. So now he does it himself and it takes about ten minutes. Just plops on some heavy eyeliner and the fro.

Seems like he doesn't have a guitar guy anymore either. Just throws it and/or drops it on the stage. Nobody there to help him anymore.

But two less people on his payroll. Guess he needs money to pay the 60 new members of his band.

Exactly. I find even when he wore his hair chemically treated, some still thought he was wearing a wig. I wonder sometimes where some of these folks get their education on the 'various' textures of Black American hair, and are they aware Black folks actually grow hair or that they actually have 'naturally' textured hair? lol I mean, what do they think? I think some of his fans forget he wore his hair natural when he first introduced himself to the world, with that same, natural look, and then later, started perming his hair. I find it sad that some of these fans think his natural hair is unacceptable, as though there is some, specific, social standard in how he is 'suppose' to wear his hair. I mean come on, even Jimi Hendrix's 'fro was never 'in place'. They need to just let his hair 'be'.

Yes, his hair is certainly Hendrixy. I'm used to seeing Prince wear his hair perfect with not a strand out of place. Even his fro back in the day was tight. I think that's why for me this disordered fro took some getting used to. He's just like "look, I dont give a f*ck, deal with it". I am curious to see how his do would look if he flat ironed it out now that he's got some length to it.

The hair to me seems emblematic of a new freewheeling attitude and surge in creativity. Prince, keep the hair and go even farther than you ever have before with your bad self!

Maybe he just got bored of treating his hair (or it got in bad shape from relaxing it kind of like how bleach messes up your hair) so he just decided to let it be natural for a bit?

Plus, he haddnt really drastically changed his hair since the '90s so maybe he wanted a change.

Just my take on the subject.

I think it does look kinda funny how he puts it over his ears haha

Y'know, when he first broke out the fro I kinda understood people being surprised or taken aback, but to still be droning on about it is lame and silly.

Off the top of my head I can think of a bunch of people with odd looking hair that nobody ever says a damn thing about...

George Clinton

Nikki Minaj
Snoop
Grace Jones

Rick James

Elton John

Just to name a few.

Enough already. rolleyes

Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

That's how every afro wig I've ever seen looks.

Definitely Hendrixy, as you put it. lol He seems more comfortable and free with his hair in its natural state. With it growing longer, I'm wondering if he would rock it in a natural, twist 'do.

I hear you. I guess some are just not used to him embracing his natural hair texture and Prince being comfortable with it.

Then some folks wanting to touch his hair, like he's some kind of pet, when it's 'just hair'. I feel like Prince needs to make a funk track called 'Don't touch the 'fro'. lol

Pretty much. Prince's hair has now become a science project, continously dissected.
