Who Played Sax on Possessed PR tour 1985?

I usually don't create these kinds of posts

But can anyone tell me if it was Eddie M. or Eric Leeds on sax during Possessed PR tour (Syracuse NY) 1985

I usually can tell by the playing, but I'm a bit stumped

I see the lineup from PrinceVault, but just want to be make sure I know who this was...

Thanks

I recall seeing Eddie M on stage as he was part of Sheila's band so would be surprised if it was both of them at one stage

It´s Eric (Prince introduces him, saying "Eric Leeds, Germany!") but Eddie was on stage and played a bit, too.

The reason why Prince shouts "Germany!" is because he was originally supposed to take the Purple Rain tour to Europe and to Germany in particular, and he even flew to Germany back then to discuss these matters but then they settled for that live broadcast from Syracuse instead of actually turning Purple Rain into a world tour the way it was actually planned to be (see the tour jackets, on them it says "World Tour" but Prince and his team changed their plans and talked with German TV station WDR about a possible live broadcast).

Back when I was younger and didn´t know these tidbits I wondered why he would shout "Eric Leeds! Germany!".

lol

" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

lol

It was broadcast in germany.

It was the 'Rockpalast' and there were several live concerts before

(Wolf Maahn, Paul Young, Al Jarreau)

Prince was the last act and some ppl were disappointed it was only

aired by satelite (even for the People in the Gruga-Halle where the concert was)

and Prince wasn't there.

But it was the first contract to air a concert live in germany.

So Prince greeted the german viewers.

http://www.rockpalastarchiv.de/rn15_e.html

I saw it and I think it ended by 5 or 6:00 a.m.

Most of the viewers slept while it was aired.

The Revolution didn't just play their instruments, they attacked them! Eric was playing with Eddie like a couple of punk rockers.
He repeated this dynamic with Atlanta on the Lovesexy Tour. Sheer brilliance!
don't play me...i'm over 30 and i DO smoke weed....

Prince's best bands always played out of their skin, over reaching and pushing each other's boundaries as musicians. That's what made those shows cliff top edgy and exciting. Fearlessness.

even though he played flute (instead of sax) on Power Fantastic, that is 1 song if I could pay Prince to get the Revolution to just do that song live 1 time. I'd pay a million if I had it.

I wonder if he video recorded the studio recording of that song.

I love Erics flute and Atlantas trumpet on that song

True. They complimented each other perfectly. Atlanta is very underappreciated. His tone was so expressive and atmospheric.
My favourite live moment for the two of them is the instrumental segue into Sister during the Dortmund '88 show. Talk about playing off each other!
