Long time Prince admirer used to Prince's perfection in everything he does, so yes, it is odd to see his hair not shaped -cool from the root to the end. Anyone stating that it's a racial thing is clearly asleep at the wheel.

Prince, the fro is fine appeal, just shape it, and tone down the makeup. You are gorgeous without it.

A lot of this seems to stem from insecurity. I bet white people dont care how a black persons hair grows, I know plenty who think its pretty cool. Its just hair. Much better than putting chemicals on your scalp and destroying it.

Hair styles are cyclical just like fashions are. Maybe P wants to be one of those people who helps bring the big, proud fro back.

Yup, Cornel West, Questlove, Redfoo of LMFAO and Andre 3000 of Outkast spring to mind. Is Prince following a popular trend? Not really. Conservative short hair or bald is more popular for most dudes. A big retro afro is too wild for most. Most people are afraid of standing out in the crowd in fear of being mocked and ridiculed. Prince isn't one of those people. For Prince it's just going back to his original For You look, again. Prince had gone back to the afro in 2004 with the Musicology video, also. And we've seen Mister Prince Nelson's afro hair growing bigger and bigger since last year. A wig don't grow like a chia pet.

Prince doesn't even look his age, and if you are waiting for Prince to start looking like an ordanary dude, you will be waiting forever. I wouldn't want him to look normal. Prince still defies the conservative traditional gender stereotypes in fashion, etc. Part of his art is theatricality.
