PurpleManiac34	Linn LM 1 drum machine Was Prince using Linn drum LM 1? On what albums / songs? I consider buying it and try it out. Does anyone has any experience with it? [Edited 3/31/14 13:39pm]

Dandroppedadim e	i'm not an expert but to my ears, he started using the Linn on 1999 and the Time. Controversy and earlier albums may of used them but he was also using other drum machines but mainly live drums on those.

LM-1 was first used on "Controversy" on "Private Joy", although according to his own comments he was using a "prototype" of the machine (he also commented that he thinks he might have had the first unit ever produced, so that might have been what the comment about using a "prototype" was about).

We've certainly discussed the LM-1 a lot here. He might have used it on 50% of the songs he did during the 1980s, although some of the later records from that decade might have just the LM-1 sounds loaded into a sampler.

Prince used Lm1 on his albums .he never used linn drum on his albums but he used it on albums by associated artists.the only exception is Kiss.Song Kiss features linn 9000. Prince used linn far less after 1987 and its a shame becausr Lm1 +Oberhaim analogue synths is Prince.
