he recently played the album for LA Reid.....perhaps he's trying to get a new deal with whatever label that Reid works for? It's kinda crazy the way he has to negotiate a new deal everytime he wants to release a new album | |

LA Reid is currently with Epic records. Prince is probably trying to work on a distribution deal with them - I highly doubt Reid was just like "Hey, Prince, come play me your new record for no reason!"

If you don't mind me intruding on your wild speculations, Prince has not made any attempts to get another "record contract". Prince is still with Kobalt, but they're NOT his record label. He has them for distribution and marketing services. They will release the album for NPG records when he gives them the word.
Kobalt would not promote his single and talk about the release of the album if they weren't still in line to distribute it.

it seems like its still on to me as he has been doing his job promoting it with tours, new girl appearance to get his name out there and now Arsenio. So far 2014 has been great!! The magazine interview said spring which is not far away so I don't know why everyone thinks its done. Plus Liv's album just came out. Things are great to me!! | |

this is kind of sad but true
he needs to just figure out that nobody gives a shit about paying for music anymore, especially not FIXURLIFEUP, etc.
give that shit away for free on his website or do like radiohead did and have people pay what they want for it
and then he needs to stop worrying about getting a hit or selling records

I like fixurlifeup, screwdriver and pretzelbodylocic. I did not care for breakfast can wait. I will gladly pay for this album and look forward to it. Thats what great about Prince music as it appeals to different people. What you may not like others love. I just hate the way his fans hate his music publicly so much and dog him. Just let us rock fans have our one album. This rock phase will be over way too soon. I have been waiting for an album like this from him forever!! Just let us enjoy it. He will be back to R&B before you know it | |
