I'm not sure what your point is? You don't credit Prince only. Am i being dense?
My point is that it is not a 3rdeyegirl album (at least not the two songs which have been released) but a Prince & 3rdEyeGirl. Just like Purple Rain was Prince & the Revolution and Diamonds and Pearls was Prince & the NPG. Which didn't stop Prince from being the main vocalist in the albums and which (hopefully) will not stop him from doing the main vocals in this one...
Nope. Still don't get it.
Fact: Neither of us have no clue who this album will be credited to when it comes out. That is, unless, you have it in your hands right now.
As for what's already been released, I refer you to an ealier point...Prince has said these songs are constantly evolving. Ida Nielson might have layered in trombone on Pretzel for all I know. We just don't know whose doing what? That's my point. |

LOL, very true. But to be fair to the guy I think he said Purple Rain was the closest in feel, not that it sounded anything like it. Clearly it's very guitar-heavy but I guess we knew that.
Also, I'm not sure that song played over the PA in Manchester is on the album, certainly not the version that hte Mojo guy heard.
As stated in another thread the whole Wow instrumental thing is a misunderstanding and that the interviewer was not allowed to take notes and got confused, I'm pretty certain the instrumental is Plectrum Electrum and Wow is the Prince vocal version of The Unexpected. [Edited 3/3/14 8:45am]
Actually I wasn't referring to WOW but the mystery Hannah song played over the PA in Manchester. Ah ok didn't know about that one She Believed in Fairytales and Princes, He Believed the voices coming from his stereo

I know, all this is getting very confusing now! I think the reference was to "Stop This Train" on the Saturday night - definitely not on the album. I could, however, be completely wrong... |

the guy who interviewed Prince from Mojo did indeed say that he heard more than one song with females on vocals
the album is a 3rdeyegirl album
3rdeyegirl includes Hannah, Prince, Donna and Ida
for fuck's sake it's going to suck
will I buy it?
yes |

I guess people care because it's been so long since the last Prince album. Let's face it though, this is basically "protege". Whatever the exposure given to other band members in the past, a Prince album was mainly just that - where he played and sang everything (alright maybe he got someone else to play sax). In any event, that 'ain't what 3rdEyeGirl is.

And if we take a look at the tracklist we have so far we can see that all of those tracks will have Prince on lead vocals. I can't imagen that Hannah will sing Whitecaps 4 example. Well. Yes. But, of course, any thoughts on the new album are complete conjecture, and therefore meaningless. |

im sick of people like you who keep posting crap, but i still come on here because for all my sins im a prince fan so i have to read stupid posts like this. Lets just see when the album drops, then you can go on about who singing what. But if prince isnt on 99.9 percent of the main vocals il show my behind on the town hall steps !! |

whatever, i dont mind being corrected if its true. Go back and clean your ears out and listen to the interview again. He never says he heard one or any of the girls singing any main vocals, as you have posted. Anyhow, Im just going to wait till the album drops |

With respect, are you like, simple? I've never claimed the reporter didn't hear anyone other than Prince. I merely want to add that he ALSO said he didn't know if it would remain that way. Please don't make me write that again.
If you don't get this logic then I really can't help you.

HANNAH DOES HAVE LEAD ON AT LEAST ONE SONG
Oh my god its a first world problem!
It was played thru the P.A in Manc and Hannah came on dancing about and miming to it after the show.
It did sound really good and she can move! But it was bass heavy and had a RnB vibe so yes most of you will probably hate it and it will become a first world problem.
In other news wait for the album to come out, listen to it, THEN MOAN! (if you must)
It's possible that it might not be on the album - it didn't really seem to fit in with the Plectrum Electrum feel (as much as we know about that).
Prince did tell Josh to play the album at the end of the gig tho and thats what was played 3121 |

So then by that logic, the entire Plectrum Electrum album might end up being nothing but bagpipes...
I say we start getting irritated over Prince's possible overuse of bagpipes on this CD. Whatever happened to playing guitar, Prince?!?!
