"breakdown" might never come out the interviewer who heard the album said he dosen't remember hearing it which means it might end up in the vault and stay there for eternity with the all songs we would love to hear

Then again it might be released someday.

i'm still confident there's a solo Prince album coming at some point, along with a NPG album with that Big City clip in full flow. She Believed in Fairytales and Princes, He Believed the voices coming from his stereo

sorry but both songs are not that great and don't really sound like they are complete
not sure what the hype is all about
saw The Breakdown in Vegas too............pretty sure he opened with it
was a strange way to open the show and in a way kind of sad because I bet Prince would like nothing more for people to be wanting him to be playing new stuff in concert - but in reality they are all about When Doves Cry and Rasberry Beret

At this point, is there even any real certainty that Plectrum Electrum will drop? Check out The Mountains and the Sea, a Prince podcast by yours truly and my wife. More info at https://www.facebook.com/TMATSPodcast/

Its org protocol to drool over unreleased material, complain that he hasn't released it and the very second that its released call it trash and compare it things written from 82-88. Change it one more time..

At least he should release some of those solo songs as downloads, even if the 3rdEyeGirl release ends up being a CD / LP without a download option.

I thought it was very telling that he didn't play The Breakdown while he was in London. A clear indicator that it isn't on the album. It may never have been intended for Plectrum Electrum and, this close to a release of the album (I use the word 'close' loosely), he doesn't want to distract from the purpose of the visit or set expectations that it would be on the album. Alternatively, he may have decided from audience and fan reaction to the track that it's simply too good for 3rdeyegirl and he's going to save it for a future solo album. A while back, 3rdeyegirl did indicate that they were adding parts to The Breakdown. One more track for orgers to be geeky about! "Had to get off the boat so I could walk on water..."

haha really? wow Prince fans really have such a variety of taste, I thought Breakdown was one of those songs that would be instantly considered a "really good one" even for Prince standard! I personally love it, but the quality of the one I have is really bad! (It's the Vegas version) So I hope a clean studio version gets released...=D

On Arsenio Hall he talked about the song "The Breakdown".
I heard the live version and loved it, more than any of the other songs he's put out in the last 14 months. I loved Groovy Potential also.

He said on the show he was waiting until he had other songs to with it. Which suggests it's not on the album.

Not always!! I compare with nothing at all, yes I prefer some periods above others but I also looooove 2004-20Ten, not just the 80's...2013 is the first time I lost my interest like in '97-'99.But enjoy your trip, I had mine the previous decade....ABOVE the 90's in my Prince universum Love4oneanother
