Is there a worse American movie than Graffiti Bridge?

Zoolander? But then again I actually enjoyed some scenes in that movie.

Maybe "The Happening"?

The floor is open.

How lame is it to keep bringing up this movie.

ANSWER: There are many American movies that are far, far lesser than 'Graffiti Bridge'.

Other than the treatment of 'Tick, Tick, Bang', I actually like the movie. I do have very high and diverse taste in film, but I simply view it as it is intended. It was Prince's art, representing where he was at the time.

Prince would hate this comparison, but Graffiti Bridge is alot like Xanadu, that 1980 musical fantasy film that also bombed at the box office. Both of these films are basically just long-form music videos.Lots of music, but not much substance.I actually like Xanadu, though lol

I was literally going to make a thread just like this one!

I actually really like the movie GB, I was watching it just today.

Yeah, its not as good as Purple Rain or Under The Cherry Moon but it's still okay.

Its funny in parts, like the bit with Morris and Jerome when the kid comes and steals Aura, and when he randomly screams and Morris comes over like "What is yo' main problem?".

The ending was rushed and the plot with Aura wasnt exactly solid, I mean was she meant to be an angel or something?

Also, I totally noticed Aura kept saying stuff to The Kid like "Oh I gotta go soon, don't get too close to me!"

Bro, she WARNED YOU.

But yes, for those who havent seen GB, this is it, in a nutshell:

YES!!! At least GB has a good soundtrack, unlike Watchmen, Castaway, Battlefield Earth, which have no redeeming qualities at all.

Although Steven Spielberg did get the Wi Fi put in the eastern Islands of Fiji, that still does not improve the movie Castaway!

There are literally hundreds of films worse than Graffiti Bridge. It is still a bad movie. It reminds me of a kids movie with its humour such as the pepper scene or the money duel with The Time which is light and whimsical. The problem is it also wants to be profound and spiritual (thus coming out as pretentious. Ingrid Chavez is no leading lady. With my purple shades on I can still enjoy this movie but would not want to expose the uninitiated to this film as they would not feel it at all.

<img src=" />

To paraphrase Paul McCartney's defense of The Magical Mystery Tour, Graffiti Bridge gives you the chance to see a performances of Question of U, Joy in Repetition and many other tracks. In fact Magical Mystery Tour is another maligned film that I do not mind (it beats GB) and shows the limitation of Prince as an auteur and one stop entertainment industry. Purple Rain was raw, Cherry Moon had charm, Sign o the times was a concert, Graffiti Bridge had all of the weaknesses and none of the strengths. <img src=" />

It could have been so much better. Thieves in the temple was a music video I always remembered. The discussions between Prince and Aura not so much. . <img src=" />

Really, Graffitti Bridge is better than Watchmen or Castaway? Actually I enjoyed even Battlefield Earth more. lol

Outside of some of the music numbers, the actual scenes in Graffiti Bridge just don't work and are unwatchable for me.

I do think Under the Cherry Moon is much much much better.

Despite Garffiti Bridge being a truly horrible film the answer is absolutely yes. The list is vast starting with the last one I saw, last night. The remake of Total Rekall!

I actually thought Pacific Rim was half decent. I'd watch that again over Graffiti Bridge in a heartbeat! lol

And dseann... The Last Dragon is a CLASSIC! lol

I forgot about Sharknado though. wink

Do you say this kind of statements to the people surrounding you in your life or only in the internet?

I agree. I don't get the hate for this film. Also, I'd add that Prince has his finest look and that Ingrid Chavez is as beautiful as a woman can be on it.

I agree jaypotton - he should have realized the film was doomed and just released it as a video companion and put the focus on the album, which was really quite good and got some excellent reviews at the time. (an A+ from Entertainment Weekly).

Zoolander is hilarious and I won't hear another word about it. GB is really very, very bad. I can think of worse films but, as a Prince fan, none that bother me quite so much. It came out when Prince's popularity really started to fade and made it that much harder to defend him. I like some of the music in it but Jesus Christ is the film corny.
