As I understand it:

. Electric Intercourse would have been in the Beautiful Ones scene

. Nasty girl would have been Sex shooter scene

. Erotic City wwas going to be in the Computer blue scene

. Cool was going to be in the Jungle Love scene

I never knew that "Cool","Nasty Girl" and "Erotic City" were ever considered for the movie

The song "G-Spot" was planned for the movie,but it was later replaced by "Computer Blue".

The song "Wednesday" was supposed to be sung by Jill Jones but it was left out. I´ve seen a picture of her playing the piano. The picture I saw was probably an outtake.

The scene with "Computer Blue" and "Darling Nikki" was originally going to feature "G-Spot". Not sure if there was going to be some other song for that scene as well, but I don't think I've read a mention of "Erotic City" being specifically replaced by "Computer Blue".

someone HAS seen the 2 1/2 hr cut of the film ...so when they divulge ....

Someone should dig-up the old issue of Uptown Magazine where it discusses the missing footage for this film. According to the article, if I remember correctly, sequences for Electric Intercourse & G-Spot were filmed. The information for the article was compiled by using shooting schedules and other sources.

Albert Magnoli did an online Q&A session with PR fans some time ago but I don't recall a question like the OP's being asked.

the Beautiful ONes took the place of G-Spot and Electric Intercourse

everything else is in place as should be (maybe When Doves Cry) the songs, was not in place yet

But everything else is in place as on the original script

* Nasty Girl was never going to replace Sex Shooter. Why would Prince use an older song for this new movie. They more than enough new songs to fill it. Vanity 6 had their own version of Sex Shooter

* Erotic City from what I understand by the original script was never in the place of Computer Blue, it didn't even fit the flow of the story, because the Kid was angry frustrated etc after his violent scene with Apollonia. Also Fathers Song was 2 lead into Computer Blue as is. Since they are connected

* Cool as far as I know was never going to be in the movie Purple Rain. They had more than enough songs to fill the spot.

Now I do believe the Barn Scene would have had If the Kid Can't Make U Cum (the Time) as it's theme music.

The fact that the Time is singing a song identifying Prince's character the Kid... It might have been revamped in some ways to reflect the Time, but that would have definately been the Barn Scene.

The Time's "Cool" was never intended to be in Purple Rain.In fact,no old songs were ever planned to be used for the movie.However,an updated version of "Cool" (titled "Cool 90") was recorded for the Graffiti Bridge movie,but it wasn't used.

I'd love to see that missing footage! Wish it could be included on a 30th Anniversary DVD of the film.

Electic Intercourse did pre date The Beautiful Ones.
