all of the threads on prince as a guitarist (his being this
or that) made me go back to some performance tapes i have
and some SUPERB examples of THE little guy's chops are
in these:

1984 warehouse rehearsal stuff...he BURNS on extended versions of EROTIC CITY and must be something in the water.
LORD have mercy...if you got these-tell me what you think?

1987 small club take on JUST MY IMAGINATION
and a blues tune (i'm not sure what the title is-
sounds like"wasn't my faith'...but i don't think that's
what it is...

1988-rave to the joy fantastic (with miko,levi,boni etc..
and STIll would stand all time.
(this is a small club thing,too. i think it HOLLAND..
FOREVER in my life (with BONI wailin' her ass off)
