what is the best maxi-single?

Hey, I'm looking to expand my Prince collection and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as to what the best maxi-single is. Cheers

there are so many,

Imo U should get all of them from Sexy Dancer (Extended) 1979 to Eye Hate U (Extended) 1995...

"Best" is a relative term, but here, in no particular order, are some of my favorites:

  • Pop Life B/W Hello
  • America B/W Girl
  • La La La He He Hee (Highly Explosive) b-side to Sign o' the times
  • Shockadelica (B-side of If I was your Girlfriend)
  • I Wish U Heaven B/W Scarlet Pussy
  • I Would Die 4 U B/W Another Lonely Christmas
  • Sexy Dancer
  • Kiss B/W Love or $
  • Mountains B/W Alexa de Paris

Really, you can't go wrong with most of his 12" singles.

The only one I would really stay away from - or at least not expect too much from - is the Glam Slam 12", although I enjoy it's B-side, "Escape".

But I prefer the orig. GB album version to the Maxi single version, however the Maxi-b-sides are great, Loveleft, Loveright and more... side 2, indeed kicks ass.... cool
