. Good points. Although I hear why folks are comparing it to 'Iron Man', I actually hear more of a Joan Jett and the Blackhearts vibe to it... although I've only heard the 1:59 clip, not the wholoe song. "He's a musician's musician..."

I don't have anything against artists using short bits from other artists' works in their music. However, it seems that there are some people on this site that will use just about anything as an excuse to attack the "late-career" Prince. I'm not sure if what's done with this song counts as a copyright violation either.

Listened a bit more to this song. It feels, smells and sounds like it was recorded relatively quickly. Almost a demo. It was not toyed with for ages, as it appears to me. Am I mistaken? It has a hint of hiss even. A tad of the `Prince` of years ago. I do not mean that to qualify the piece but just a sa reference to the person we used to know.
What do you think? Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

. I think that what you are saying is reminding me of the album 'Dirty Mind'... ironic that they used "When you were Mine" in the New Girl episode. . Also, something hasn't mentioned here... 'NewGirl' is a morph of "New Power Generation" and "3rdEye Girl". Hmmm... . [Edited 2/4/14 9:04am] "He's a musician's musician..."

just heard it after reading the initial posts regarding the teaser. Initial negative comments now seem exceedingly funny. My personal opinion is that this shit is on point. Just some head-bobbing, old-fashioned, guitar-driven music. I've been waiting for him to do this kind of stuff for a long time, being a fan of both rock and funk. I mean, hes been doing them both for a long time, but this current iteration is much more rock-driven. if Plectrum Electrum sounds like this, the current re-load of "Let's Go Crazy", etc., then I'm a happy brotha.

Kinda catchy.
Guitar solo could've been better executed....
Fun song though. | |

If Prince is too sleepy to get the gun, he should take Viagra. See how he partly blames the woman by saying "we both too sleepy." Why is it her fault Prince can't get the gun???? Anyway, by verse 3 this problem was corRECTED & he makes sure to point out the limousine driver is a woman or it would be weird. Do you also realize this makes 2 songs in a row about 69ing? (some people might not know that means giving & receiving oral sex at the same time). Da Bourgeoisie has the lyrics "bearded lady" so if 2 women are 69ing & they do not have shaved "bouquets" (Prince calls that hair a "little wig") that his ex-girlfriend is "snatching" to wear as a beard. I'm not sure anybody pointed this out, but the meaning seemed obvious to me. Anyway, I think understanding song lyrics gives the listener a better appreciation for the music / art. I like both songs!!! (not for the content, but for the musicianship & vocals).

I have not heard the whole thing, but not surprisingly, I think the music sounds great, and the lyrics/vocals sound juvenile and even slightly awkward. My Legacy

How old r u? Its not a reference to not being able to get it up. The 2 involved are tired/sleepy of too endorphined out to bother reacting violently to an adverse situation. They've been 69'ing/boning/intertwining too much to have a desire to go grab guns and shoot people after they've been wronged. Like u said...understanding the lyrics helps u appreciate the art better. U shid listen to your own advice and try for a better understanding of the lyrics.... Also...I'm sure 100% of the world knows what 69ing is...but thanx for explaining anyway. [Edited 2/4/14 20:22pm]

^^ thanks for making your links clickable. I'm usually on a mobile device so I won't look at a link posted here unless clickable. I'm really impressed by the flower arrangement. I wonder which florist he used. I like the use of tropical, roses, and lilies. I recall another story someone related about him sending flowers after she let him eat her fries or something. Seems to be a pattern - be nice to P, get flowers.

Here's a few reviews of the song itself from outside the p.org world lol: The first single “Pretzelbodylogic” is emblematic of the album: thick low-end, with a big focus on overdriven guitars, riff-based funk rock. I wrote down “Lenny Kravitz” but I also wrote down “Jet?” during it. It is assuredly the meanest-sounding Prince song in a while, all snarls and leather jackets and pants (with heels). This will probably be said a lot surrounding the album, but the motto for PlectrumElectrum might be: Lose Yrself 2 Funk Rock.
http://news.radio.com/201...bodylogic/ Spiked with party chants and simple guitar revving, the tune echoes the smart sensibilities of Sly Stone jams. The chorus doesn’t touch the magnificence of “1999″ or “Little Red Corvette,” which seems to sound like a cluttered rant carved out using Lenny Kravitz leftovers. But most of the funky template and even funkier lyrics (“Another limousine about to get a load/Put your seat back now; it’s one, two, three for the road”) prove that Prince still has a way to get your attention, even if it’s for a little while.

this is prince worst piece of shit song since screwdriver .. not too long ago eh .. if u wanna know why haters still hang on .. its cuz we are trying to figure out HOW exactly prince got this bad .. it is a mind blowing / numbing puzzle with only 2 obvious conclusions .. 1 . prince never had the real talent to begin with and stole most of his good ideas and simply performed them himself .. or 2. prince is a crack head ... i don't want to believe either so please .. those that sniff the purple ass perfume .. how did he get this bad .. and don't tell me this shit is just as good as he has ever been .. or that its better than everyone else his age .. those are both lies .. this song is dumber than when he put 'motherfucking' as every other lyric for a few years .. prince replaced curse words with just plain stupid words he makes up .. and not in a good way like "lovesexy" .. what the hell does "too sleepy to get the gun mean" .. never mind .. it is too stupid of a lyric to even care about .. how about he change it to "too sleepy to write decent lyrics, melodies, guitar riffs, drum beats" .. ahh that would be hard to fit into the chorus .. but you know prince is the king of ackwardly jamming too many sylables into a lyrical phrase and pretending it even remotely makes sense as a song or a lyrical theme .. this song sucks .. have I mentioned that .. the new girl tune had more potential .. he probably ruins it anyway .. or didn't write it .. thats more likely

Aside from the vocals, the music sorta reminds me of I Love Rock and Roll from Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. "You always get the dream that you deserve, from what you value the most" -Prince 2013

I think you are misinterpreting the lyrics. 3rdeyegirl tweeted: ""PRETZELBODYLOGIC" is a hard-hitting funk jam about resting up to build up enough energy to get it on...." Also, Pretzelbodylogic (the word) is THINKING about how to twist their bodies into sex positions, so they haven't done anything to get tired. Verse 2 says "I need a little more rest, then we'll do what needs to be done" which happens in verse 3. Too tired, not in the mood, impotent, however you want to put it, there's not much difference, therefore "get the gun" has to have some sexual meaning. What do they say to men in the Viagra commercials? So when the moment comes you will be ready.... A gun (which is long, hard & points) in this song is a metaphor for a boner because it's the first thing required for getting it on. You are saying Prince will not fight bootlegging or let people take advantage of him because he is too tired? That's just dumb. You think Prince has a temper problem? I don't think so. React violently? Shoot people? That's crazy!!! Do Prince's girlfriends help him with his fights? No. The line about the promoter is meant to throw off the listener from the real meaning which is in the chorus. If the chorus means what you say it means, that would make no sense because this song is about imagining, not doing & why that is. Prince doesn't say "I am too sleepy" because that would be embarassing & maybe she feels the same way????
