Plectrum electrum is fine. Fixurlifeup or liveoutloud or pretzelbodylogic is cringeworthy. Self help slogans. I am wondering whether the new "debut album" will be a preachy christian rock album. Apologies to practicing christians.

How is Pretzelbodylogic a "self help slogan"? lol

And if you're wondering if the album will be "preachy Christian" music, I'm wondering if you've actually listened to any of the songs you're basing that fear on.

I am not living in fear lol

I am referring to the lyrics in the song, not just the title of the song! The pretzel title I see as self help as in rectify that twisted body/thinking.

And yes I have listened to the songs!

The FULU lyrics include e.g. "some people walk in the sun" (enlightened) while "others walk in the dark" (the dark side, non believers).

LOL lyrics are in the same vein imo. Contains e.g. the words "new testimony".

The snippet of lyrics in the pretzel song could be interpreted as preachy, too. E.g. it shows for a second or two a photo of a child raising its hand, eyes closed, like someone at a born again prayer group with the word "praise".

Those are not Christian messages?

BTW, I have nothing against people living with a strong faith but imo these 3EG songs are sending a specific message. I call it preachy. Can also be called proselytising. I just wanted to point it out. Maybe someone else picked up on that too?

The thread is about how stupid the OP thinks the album title is. You said the album title was fine, but that song titles like Pretzelbodylogic sound like "self help slogans". You're now analyzing the Pretzelbodylogic title, without going at all into the song's lyrics, probsbly because you don't know what they are yet.

So, yeah, my question still stands lol...How the hell is the title Pretzelbodylogic a self-help slogan?

And yes I have listened to the songs!

Holy shit lol...I'd respond to all of your rationalizations but I think I'd be better off letting your, ah, "logic" speak for itself. Incredible that in your disoriented mind, "sun" and "dark" can only mean "Christians" and "non-believers". You don't even bother putting that one line of lyric into context of the rest of the lyrics that follow it.

What about those songs or any that he's released with 3rd Eye website sound preachy Christian?

Fulu and Lol were released through the 3EG website and attributed to 3rdeyegirl. Not every song released through that website was attributed to 3EG. Many of them were attributed to Prince iirc. I see a difference in the themes of the songs between those attributed to 3EG and those attributed to Prince.

LOL was written by Liv Warfield, so not 3EG or Prince, so I think your argument just got weaker..

But how different is preachy Prince with various messages from any other time?

ScrewDriver is also attributed to Prince and Plectrum Electrum overall as a title is probably just connecting the direction Prince has wanted to go with a more Youthful & ROck oriented driven sound

from messages in Sexuality 1981 - Get On the Boat Prince has always given christian message, Prince preachiness, commentary of his own style and other various messages:

Yes the lyrics were written by Live Warfield but the song was released under the 3EG moniker.

Btw, I was just expressing an impression. Floating an idea. Sigh... So it doesn't resonate with anyone. Fine.

Yes. Correct.

In my response to Byron I tried to explain why I find these songs preachy.

There's something about these songs that sounds different to me.

I guess I need to find some other words to express it better.

I never thought of Live Out Loud as preachy

But I don't think the album would be too preachy in any light,

But, at the end of the day, all social, political or religious lyrics send a message. They voice a point of view about some issue. Even when I don't agree with this point of view, I find them more interesting than "irresistible bitch, we can fuck until the dawn with my 23 positions, etc., etc.".

I actually quite like the title, it's catchy and has got something of Harry Potter about it...sounds like one of his spells!

Or could be Plectrum Erection!
