What Prince Songs Were Popular In The Clubs?

I always wondered what songs were seen as ''club anthems'' from Prince! i know there has to be a few. In my young lifetime i have only heard Pussy Control and delirious played at clubs. And that was both like once lol

So, what songs of his were popular in the clubs? would people go crazy?

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

All music is shit music and no music is real- gunsnhalen

As a club DJ from the late 90s to the early 00s, these always filled the dance floor:

Kiss

Erotic City

Pussy Control

Gett Off

fro

These were hit or miss:

Controversy

1999

Little Red Corvette

When Doves Cry

Let's Go Crazy

Housequake

Hot Thing

Cream

Sexy M.F.

cool

And these I kept trying anyway, even though they rarely worked:

Face Down

Come On

Get Wild

Hide The Bone

Scarlett Pussy.....@the strip club. razz
Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

Hot Thing, Sexy M.F & Cream were hit and miss eek Hot Thing & Sexy M.F are grrovy as hell. And Cream was one of his 90's hits... i'm suprised those didn't get people going.

At this time period it was mostly hip hop, a little pop and a little house plus it was the very beginning of the 80s nostalgia revival. cool

I used to go to a great little club in my youth where the policy was eclecticism concerning song choice. 1999 and Kiss were staples of the dancefloor.
don't play me...i'm over 30 and i DO smoke weed....

P Control in my early 20s, though it was kind of old by the time I was hearing it in clubs. Erotic City (as a throwback). Hot Thing and Nasty Girl used to fill up the skating rink when I was 12. smile

In the UK in the 80s, DJs avoided Prince like the plague. His BPM was always off the current trends. Kiss sometimes got a spin at very commercial clubs.
