New article and special issue in France's main music mag Hi, --- Les Inrockuptibles, FranceĀ“s most relevant music mag, has published an article (in French) titled: "Funk, sex, pop and rock: how Prince has prepared the recipe to success". Interesting read. Link: http://www.lesinrocks.com...-11477696/ --- Also, Les Inrockuptibles has published a special issue dedicated entirely to Prince. I have read some of these special issues, and they are normally quite good, so probably the one dedicated to Prince will be worthy. (Again in French, though). Link to the online shop where the issue can be bought: http://boutique.lesinrock...s-p844.htm --- I must say I'm noticing an important coverage of Prince's news in Europe, much bigger than recently, at least since the 2007 London O2 shows.

Nothing new in this article but I'd be really curious to see the rest of the issue. Like I told u in my orgnote I used to disagree on almost everything that mag wrote about R&B artists in the 90's, because they always did it from the point of view of rock listeners who perfectly understood The Smiths or Pixies but didn't get much of what was really happening in R&B, but that was 20 years ago and the new writers are probably more open minded than the first generation. I don't read the mag usually. I bought it when I spent some months in Paris back in 2004, and since then I usually check their website and buy some issue if it really interests me. Last year they praised Janelle's album a lot and with good arguments, so that could be a sign of change regarding what you say, but I don't know the mag in depth. --- One thing I've found interesting in the short article is how the sex image Prince built for himself is separated from the actual content of Prince's music. I really think the association Prince-sex has more to do with Prince's image, with his video-clips and the covers of his albums, than with the real content of his music. Sure, Prince has sung a lot about sex, but also about religion, about love... But he's usually painted only as this "sex freak", that's the image that has lasted. --- I think the whole issue will be interesting, though I fear there'll be nothing new for hardcore fans. There may be some insight though, I'll probably get it. [Edited 2/24/14 6:47am]

I love the picture of Apollonia shown in the special issue. Can someone please post it? She's so sexy in it, hiding her wonderful breast...mmmmm "Money won't buy U happiness but it'll pay 4 the search."

Do you already own the issue? If so, could you tell us how interesting it is?

No I don't....I could have bought it but I didn't even if there are some good pictures in it. Interesting thing, is that at the end, ther's a long article about bootlegs and some songs that were never released (wonderful ass, neon telephone...). Instead of spending money in it, I bought the vinyl Partyman 12" sealed (I'll frame it without open it as I did for The Screams Of Passion 12") and in very good condition!!!!
