I named my son Princeton. He was born in "1999". My wife went into labor on the 7th of June... but my son didn't arrive until 10:30 am on the 8th. We lived on Nelson Avenue, with the local fitness center named, "PRINCE Raquetball & Fitness" right around the corner!!!

HardcoreJollies said:We named our son Nathan after Sign O the Times, and middle name Parker as in Dorothy Parker and also Maceo Parker since he was conceived following my attendance at Maceo's 2004 concert at Hollywood's House of Blues in which Prince joined him on stage. My last name starts with a G, so our son's initials are NPG. Also worth noting my wife and I met in the Paisley Park chatroom online in 1994 when we lived on opposite coasts. Peace & B Wild! This is awesome!

I was in Wal-Mart one day in 2013, and as I am shopping I hear over the intercom: "Apollonia report to the break room". I asked an employee if I had heard that correctly, that someone named "Apollonia" worked there. To which the employee shrugged and said "yes," her facial expression clearly wondering why it would be a big deal. I guess the employee wasn't a Prince fan. I wanted to meet "Apollonia," but I was in a rush that day, and I never felt quite right returning to Wal-Mart to ask to see "Apollonia". Because if I'm asked "Why do you need to see her?," what is my answer? "Because she has the same name as one of Prince's ex-girlfriends." No way. [Edited 1/16/14 8:14am]

When my ex and I got a female cat together back in the early '90s, she (the ex) was terrified that I would want to name the cat something Prince-related...she was relieved (and somewhat surprised) when I brought up her adoration for "Gone With The Wind"--then suggested "Scarlet" (which she immediately agreed to)...boy, was she ticked a few months later when she first heard "Scarlet Pussy" and realized what I had done. (In hindsight, my cat must've been confused that "mommy" was pronouncing her name with two "T's" while "daddy" was pronouncing it with only one...)

My youngest is convinced that I named my oldest James because he was born the year after Gett Off was released - But I deny it.
