New Girl is edited and cut using such quick takes that I think Prince will be ok acting on the show. They rarely stay on an actor longer than 5 seconds lol...lots of quick cuts back and forth between characters.

It's not about being "edited carefully"...it's about how long any one characer is on the screen. Pretty much anyone can appear a competent actor for 2-3 seconds. No long takes, no following characters around the set as they ramble on in a solo monologue. New Girl's shooting/editing style minimizes bad performances, edits each actor's best takes together to make it seem like one continuous conversation. Perfect for someone like Prince.

Also the whole superbowl thing is mostly a US phenomenon to keep people off reality

lol. Even if it's more of an American event, there is such a thing as Youtube and someone will most probably post clips pretty quickly. Plus, the show does air in several countries, so even it won't be shown on the same day people will be able to see the episode eventually. Even if it doesn't always seem like it, there are tons of people still watching TV. And for the rest of those who care, there is the Internet.

He could win an Emmy, if he is given some good lines. The man can delivery comedy. He was so funny on stage and Prince killed it on the muppet show(tonight).

Prince does have a sense of humor, and he is funny. Prince's part sounds like it's going to be hilarious. I've never watched this show before, but to catch a look at that man, I'm willing to give it a try.

If you read that article you see it has nothing to do with Prince. "Just" the same old story of how the idea for New Girl was allegedly stolen. Like every other show or song.

I see that you're not a big fan of TV

But it's not like the US is the only part of the world where TV is still a big thing. It's definitely not what it used to be, but there are plenty of people still using it (like me), and there are plenty of people who don't care about or get the Internet and all the "new" technology. Considering how many watch the Superbowl on TV it's still great for New Girl to be on directly after and a smart move of Prince to be there (even if the Superbowl wasn't his idea).
