I think Prince should do more acting, and especially small roles like this one or some cameos in big budget movies or some Tarantino movies. His acting skills may not be the best but he is way better than people think, and he is a very disciplined and determined person. I'm sure the announcers will mention the show and Prince's guest appearance several times during the game, so it's good promotion for him.

And this probably means there's something for him to promote - like new music and/or tour.

Maybe, but it's also possible he just looked up what show airs immediately after the Super Bowl and wanted to book it because it's good promotion - and he told the show that he's a fan of it just to be nice. I think "Glee" used to air right after the Super Bowl, and they did an extra-special show to make good use of the extra viewership. Would have been interesting if he had done "Glee," but he and some other artists (Kings of Leon?) hated that show, I think.

Maybe he knows Zoe...She was married at one toinme to the lead of Death Cab for Cutie who i beleive performed the same night as prince at Coachella . He may know the wayans kjd through the father and uncles.. Folks act like Prince dont know any hollywood types./ Its probably farthest from the truth

DM is decent enough .. 1999 is a great record .. I never said otherwise .. I am simply arguing the merits of calling certain prince eras huge when they are not .. for example .. Miley Cyrus is having a HUGE year .. prince is not .. Jay Z and Justin Timberlake are 'popular' enough that they can literally BUY themselves a media manipulated appearance of a huge year with TOTAL CRAP records .. even prince is not able to do that, tho he is clearly trying to .. as he has done in the past with the Musicology and Emancipation loopholes just to get a wee bit o press that he doesn't really deserve for what those records were.

Like prince I feel a responsibility to teach what real music is .. has nothing to do with frustration. Altho it is annoying when Prince puts out poop and everyone calls it gold. Prince is a great example of an artist who clearly has genius level material, tons of it, and total shit. People who call shit gold need some edumacation.

if u had a leg to stand on you wouldn't twist words and imply that i dissed two great records .. and you wouldn't compare my own musical output to prince in an effor to discredit the fact that his recent music is garbage that does absolutely nothing but insult his legendary accomplishments of the past and his fan base.

Prince is such an incredible dresser, with a sense of style unmatched by anyone anywhere IMO, that I cannot picture him in any movie role other than as basically himself.

But I'd go see anything he was in.

That´s actually a very good point that I hadn´t even considered. He is too much of an individual. And while I think that that is really a good thing it is kind of detrimental when it comes to being an actor.

Still, I think he could pull off a variety of different roles, though it would be very unusual to see him without his trademark, unique and personal style of clothing. He even makes standard clothing look kind of special, at least the few times that I´ve seen him wear some.
