If you mean the 3CD unofficial compilation, this has evolved over time with variations (and, without checking, the one above appears to be a version). ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

I'm quite happy with the version I have. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

"The Dawn" - the bootleg.... Prince 4Ever.

Possibly one of the best Prince bootlegs in any configuration.

That took some looking for!
This would have been one hell of an album if it had been released - could have 'saved' the 90's for him as far as the perss/public goes.
looking forward to give it a good listen. Hamburger, Hot Dog, Root Beer, Pussy

Yes I really wish he would have released this album, would definitely been my favorite album of the 90's by Prince [Edited 12/9/13 5:37am] [Edited 12/9/13 5:38am] Welcome 2 The Dawn

Well it wouldn't have been exactly the tracklist on that boot, of course, but a triple with the content of Come, TGE and other songs from these sessions woulda been HUGE for sure.
I would have done a very different songs selection than Boris did if I'd had to configurate a dream 1994 triple album, but the dude put a lot of work in doing that, so props! A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

I wasn't aware of this compilation until now, but I was able to acquire a copy through a mutual Prince fanatic friend, and it's now queued up for my afternoon commute over the next few days. . Prince's mid-90s work is hit or miss for me. Even something that's as cohesive as "The Gold Experience" still contains stuff I don't really enjoy. And after all the hype around "Emancipation" cooled off, I realized that there were only about 4 or 5 songs on it that I found myself listening to over and over. ("Joint 2 Joint" is a friggin' masterpiece, I must say.) . But I'm looking forward to hearing "The Dawn" and seeing if these songs in a new context will appeal to me more. Thanks for hipping me to this collection!

Well, after a couple of days in the car driving between home and work, I've just now finished the first disc of the "The Dawn" boot gloriously displayed above. Some observations/comments: . - Wow! What a kick-off! From where did this version of "Come" originate? It's so good! I like it so much better than the album version! . - I'm bummed the editor didn't use the single version of "Most Beautiful Girl", which I think is much better than the "Gold Experience" version used her. But on "The Dawn", this version goes into some "jam" ending that I've never heard before. Is that from one of the "Beautiful Experience" remixes? . - "Pope" has never been a big favorite, but it works surprisingly well here. . - Sorry, can't listen to it, even on a new disc: "Ripopgodazippa" is just silly and lazy. . - "Days Of Wild" and "Strays Of The World" are another couple of tunes I'm just so-so about. . That's all for now. Maybe I'll check back in when I get through the entire thing...
