True! When you're here all the time you tend to forget that the org is only one part of his audience. I'm one of those who don't like it, but it's good for him that he finally has the hit he's been trying to have for so long. MOR pop (R&R Affair) didn't work, rock (Screwdriver) didn't work, but R&B does. And while I don't dig R&B, at least with Da Bourgeoisie he shows that he can still give up the funk. yes the org is but a wee bit of his base; we sometimes tend to beleive we are the arbiters of what is good and bad in Prince land but in reality we aren't/ His worst video ever and in mankind as some would like to beleive has over 4 Million views in @ 2 months...Not bad...Mojo mag also just posted this in there fav things of 2013 as well

Yep, said the same thing months ago on the BCW video thread ...the voices of Prince fans here on the org represent a miniscule percentage of what people in general actually think about the man, his music (new and old), his talent and his videos. You think the general public gives a rat's ass if Prince was or was not in the BCW video? ...of course not. But here on Prince.org, it's automatically seen as a sign that 1) Prince doesn't care anymore, 2) Prince is having sex with the young woman who directed it, 3) the video sucks.

Nobody else alive puts that much thought into the meaning of Prince not being in the video except in this looney bin lol...

Was born and raised in cleveland.9 urban town..BCW is an r & b song that a lot of folks who like r an b love.....the vid as well...and for someome to suggest its the worst vid ever made tells me that their cred is shot and somehow Prince makes them have a visceral reaction to anything he puts out..they'd be well advised to step away for awhile

The video is really fun and it brings out lots of imagination

Its not a high budget video...but 18 & Over or Zannalee its not. His videos are ALWAYS lacking and behind the times...save raspberry berret. His best IMO....and only a color version of ahas take on me. I think with me it boils down to chick being so cute and hot...i forgive some of its shortcomings. Its not a band performance vid which he does WAAAAAY to many of. As great as some of his songs and live performances are...its strange how lacking his videos are. Its like Shaq can work the paint like a mofo... but his free throws were for shit.
