Holy father! I am guessing these have been circulating for eons, but I have just properly listened to them from the Vanity (Homemade Deluxe Edition). Now that is some SERIOUS Prince music...old school and hardcore and definitively purple...loving it!

i'm not one to dig for demos or alt takes/versions but i may have to check for these. esp. the DMW ext'd. a definitive box of his side projects is really needed! like where to find the original 12" now?

that Vanity 6 demo of "Sex Shooter" is excellent!! Love it! Vanity sounds much more convincing than Apollonia does on the official,released version.

I agree I just miss the signature synth riffs

Reminds me of back in the early 90's, picking up the Fuzztone Reality bootleg (Cool translucent Blue vinyl!), which had the Sex Shooter demo. I never went back to the Apollonia 6 version after that. The Vanity version Funks so hard, and that guitar riff is Really missed on the final released version.

it makes me sad that we never got a second Vanity 6 album.I'm sure it would have been outrageous! Much nastier and more provocative than the Apollonia 6 album.Imagine if side One would have consisted of these three songs: "Sex Shooter","Vibrator" and "G-Spot"!!
