I've said every last bit of this over some threads this year, & all I got was shit talked back to me by Prince worshipers. I agree with everything, except TRC being good.....I still find it hard to get through that album. I've only sat through it twice....couldn't wait for it to end both times. الحيوان النادلة ((((|̲̅̅●̲̅̅|̲̅̅=̲̅̅|̲̅̅●̲̅̅|)))) ...AND THAT'S THE WAY THE "TITTY" MILKS IT!

If he ever gets to shit, his shit better be good shit. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Maybe I have a hit tip: With the current economic environment there's stil la tiny bit of time left to craft this new song called '1929', p...ong '1999'. Of course we don't want 'new master' versions but we know he can do a proper job of this already historic song. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Yeah, it's not like his official website once rules that "reviews don't matter", only to promote a positive review mere days later. And it's not like Prince once released a single where the artwork consisted of positive reviews. It's not like Prince has banned reporters from PP for daring to write critical articles. It's not like he's ripped and burned negative reviews onstage during concerts. It's not like Prince's official website censored posts that criticized him.
Oh wait, he did all of that. © Bart Van Hemelen

Yup. Not even mediocre, but actual rubbish that tarnishes his reputation.
Oh, and the post you're replying to said nothing about perfection.
No they're not. Even Prince thinks they're crap, hence he never played most of them in concert. Hell, he can't even be arsed to release some of his recent music worldwide, that's how shit it is.
Again you're making up stuff.
There's plenty of ways Prince could be relevant, but him rehashing the same lame crap over and over again isn't going to do it. As has been proven over and over again. © Bart Van Hemelen

It's clear that Prince doesn't like doing things the "normal" way anymore for the fans,it's really frustrating.A new album might be released in 2014,or he could cancel those plans tomorrow and not even make an official statement about it,lol. This is what it's like to be a Prince fan in 2013.
Just continue to collect the songs that he randomly releases these days and wait patiently for an album to arrive someday.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with people having their own views but the fact that haters such as Bart are STILL here after all these years is simply amazing. If you people hate Prince so much then why do you still devote any time to him or discussing him on sites like this? It simply doesn't make any sense. Face facts:
1. You don't like Prince anymore 2. Most of you haven't liked Prince since around the mid-90s 3. That is a long time to still continue bitching about him 4. Get over it. Go away and enjoy your life and stop focusing so much energy on something that no longer adds anything positive to your life!
Now as for providing fair critique and not have discussions hijacked by those drinking purple koolade - OF COURSE PRINCE ISN'T AS GOOD AS HE USED TO BE!
He is a man in is mid 50s and like MOST artists he hit his artistic high in his mid-late 20s/early 30s. This is (perhaps with a few exceptions) pretty much par for the course. There are very few (if any) artists who still have a career 35 years on from their debut that are as good as they were...
You telling me the solo work of Paul McCartney is any patch on the Beatles work (produced during his 20s). What about the Rolling Stones? Bowie? Stevie Wonder? Come on name me an artist with a 35 year career who is still reaching the same artistic highs?
It simply isn't possible for any artist to maintain the level of musical progression that Prince did between 1980-1988 (or arguably 1994/5). All of the most popular artists have their moment in the spotlight - sometimes their artistic high coincides with the social zeitgeist as happened with Prince in the 80s. Expecting Prince to ever achieve this again is stupid!
Certainly none of his albums IMHO since leaving Warner Bros have ever reached those highs. However, I would argue that every album has always had at least one song (often more) that are as good as any of his best stuff. He still has the ability to produce good songs but has always lacked the ability to edit himself - something done by WB.
In fact having said this I would argue that even during his artistic heyday there was at least one song on each album that was not great (again my opinion but there are certainly songs I skip even on the GREAT albums).
Just my two cents!
'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

It doesn't bother me that people hate Prince as everyone is entitled to their opinion. What I find so strange though is that people spend their precious time (life is short) on the ORG posting negative responses to everything! Crazy. Get a life and go and enjoy it. Prince was (or should be) in YOUR past!
As for whether Bart is telling the truth - whose truth! It is HIS opinion, NOTHING more. He is entitled to his opinion but that is all it is, NOT the truth!

BTW - if you hae been on here long enough then you will know Bart's history. He has some valid reasons to be bitter at Prince but I really do think 15 years is long enough and he should get over it and move on. It isn't healthy! Except at the moment, I don't recall the incident(s) of burning negative reviews. "I would say that Prince's top thirty percent is great. Of that thirty percent, I'll bet the public has heard twenty percent of it." - Susan Rogers, "Hunting for Prince's Vault", BBC, 2015

He burned reviews onstage while performing My Name Is Prince on the Arsenio Hall Show in '93, and also during the Act I and Act II tours the same year.
