on One Of Us (Emancipation) u can hear a high pitched sound. it kinda sounds like a mic. gettin 2 close 2 speakers. what is this sound. if it is the mic. then why on earth ddnt he re record it! also, is this live or studio recorded? i'm pretty sure it sounds live but my dad says it's studio. any1?

Many recordings, of great songs, have so called "imperfections". It's most important to capture that initial inspiration.

It's still really grating every time the chorus comes round and you find yourself actually listening for it hoping the damn high-pitched ringing wasn't there.

love this song...such intensity.

Take for instance the imperfection at the start of girls and boys...some seconds into the song you can hear him say 'abeep' or something.

the best song he has ever covered (my opinion)
