Yes. You can easily sense it's the work of a man in love with his wife, anticipating the joy of fathership, this is particularly true on the second cd... Thinking of it makes me feel rather sad sometimes [This message was edited Fri Mar 14 12:23:07 PST 2003 by antuco]

lets all hope he's never happy again then, cause I couldn't face life if I thought I would have to endure anything like Emancipation again. So No, it doesn't make me happy... -----------------------------------------

I'm just wondering about the relevance of that little gem of articulation. Any chance you could explain you marvellous repertoire of linguistic acheivement? Or was you just aching to type those lovely words??? -----------------------------------------

That's true, Pochacco, but I also felt a degree of desperation on Lovesexy. There's no question about it having an uplifting vibe but I also sense there's something not quite right in the way it was conceived. Elements of The Black Album feature prominently on it, for example. There is both darkness and light, and these are precisely the reasons I overrate the record.
Sorry Anji but Lovesexy always felt happy and bursting with energy to me Much love Pochacco

teller said: And don't tell me Exodus isn't a Prince album...if Graffit Bridge is, Exodus is. Telly, if Sonny's vocals were replaced with Prince's then you might have a case. Graffiti Bridge, on the other hand, is a Prince album that additionally integrates his brand of artists to the whole Graffiti vibe.

i think prince used the exodus album a bit like lil red corvette. he used the group as a whole rather than him doin everythin and them jus playin the tune

Emancipation has a very interesting format.
I read a review in a UK newspaper at the time of its release, that described CD I as the funk/soul album you'd expect from Prince; CD II as the candle burning, beautiful dedication to his relationship with Mayte and CD III as a brief exploration into new sounds. It also said that the first three songs on CD I compared to the best three openers from any album. I remember being really psyched when I read that. I'm not convinced the 60 minute format was wise.
