New Power Soul Release Party

I have always liked this album. Saw him live at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago with Chaka and Larry Graham supporting this and it was a killer show.

"New Power SoOUUUuL"

Love the harmony on this album, and the more low key bassy songs. Pure funk and sex. The word play/lyrics add lots of character to the album (which you know it should be full of when you look at the album cover). And those horns were horny.

Musically stale era, add to that Chaka screaming her arse off and Larry being introduced at every opportunity and it all turns a bit bendy.
