Isn't it interesting to see how Prince will be remembered by many for a basketball game and not for the last 5 albums he made?

Makes you think eh? wink

Anyone have a scan of this section. I'm imagining Tyson telling this story, I didn't know he was there. That adds a whole 'nother dimension. F@*+ing hilarious!

she quoted it in the video:

In an excerpt from Rolling Stone, Tyson, with the help of author Larry Sloman, reveals the time he swung by the house of Eddie Murphy to find him and his brother Charlie in amazement over getting spanked in a game of basketball by Prince (in high heel shoes) and his team.

"The next day, I went back to Eddie's house and Eddie and Charlie were marveling over the fact that Prince and his guys had kicked their ass playing basketball. Prince had on his high heel shoes and he was still hitting every bucket. Swoosh. Swoosh."

My point is that if you ask a thousand people if they heard about the basketball game and the Dave Chapelle thing plenty of them will say yes.

Ask the same people if they can name 3 out of 5 of his last albums and you will get a blank stare most of the time. twocents

Ok, cool. I got too excited picturing Mike Tyson there too. Still a cool story, Mike going over to Eddie's and hearing that story.

Most people couldn't name the first 5 albums by Elvis, The Stones, The Beatles or Prince.

They will remember memorable songs: 'Blue Suede Shoes', 'Brown Sugar', 'Yellow Submarine' and 'Little Red Corvette'.

Just as plenty of people will remember memorable incidents about musicians: people will probably recall that Elvis died on the toilet, Keith Richards fell out of a coconut tree, and Paul McCartney got fleeced by Heather Mills. But most won't remember the namesof 3 of an artist's last 5 albums.

(And some of those people would even say ... "what's an album?")

Perhaps...but it's a long time ago that Prince released a memorable song...

He tried with "Breakfast Can Wait" and the only thing people were talking about is the Dave Chapelle artwork. That got a lot of press...the song is long forgotten neutral

Instead of being the sour puss in an otherwise fun thread, why not start your own thread.... so we can skip it?

The Chepelle skit of Prince playing basketball filled me with more good feelings then 3 out of 5 of Prince's last albums.

All you have to do is look at Prince concerts from Controversy to Purple Rain to realize he is nimble in his heels. Isn't his boots reinforced with steel to allow him to run and jump?
